1940 Oldsmobile Series 60Very solid original classic. Car was restored back in the late 70's and then sat in a shed pretty much up until a few years ago. Car is pretty much all original with the exception of being converted to 12 volt. It is actually titled as a 1939 and the frame number is a 1939, but the body tag is a 40. I'm guessing it was an early 40 build and the frame was a left over from the previous year, cause the only major difference in a 39 and 40 is the grille, I have seen this in other late 30 GM vehicles also. It isn't a show car by any means, but it is a fun, old, original, dependable cruiser. Great for the occasional Sunday drive, wouldn't recommend the interstate cause about 55 mph is its max. I have personally drove the car a lot. Has a lot of new parts, all new wiring, new battery, alternator, plugs and wires. High beams, low beams, running lights, brake lights, turn signals and dash lights all work. The speedometer and original oil pressure gauge also works, holds great oil pressure at all times. The original heater was pulled apart, cleaned and tested, car has working heater. Has new brake shoes, wheel cylinders and springs on all 4 corners, stops like a new car. Has new sway bar bushings front and rear, new left and right metal running boards. The wheels were sand blasted and painted to match the car with an original style wide white wall tire. Front and rear bumpers were just rechromed. The original 230 flathead 6 fires right up and runs as it should, shifts smoothly, all the windows roll up and down as they should and doors open and close tight. The whole car is very solid, there has been a piece of metal put in the front passenger floor board, but other than that the floors and truck are very solid. The paint does shine, but it does have places in it here and there, the truck lid has some spots in it, I tried to show them in the video. If you want a show car I would plan on painting it. If you want something you can enjoy and work on it as you drive it, than its perfect.
