Vehicle Detail
1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Sport Coupe for sale or trade.- Time Capsule - ----- No Reserve---- 4-Speed Hydra-Matic - Factory Power Seats and Factory Power Windows (Complete and still connected) VIN: 9EH6247x Still retains the original VIN and Body tag - never removed or modified. Original #'s Matching Engine: 337 Flathead. Largest flathead Ford ever made. The heads are embossed with original script that says "Lincoln". Very neat. Original #'s Matching Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic Hydra-Matic Suicide doors Factory Power windows Factory Power seat Solid car, very minimal rust... Very Minor Rust on Passenger Rear corner near back door and the Trunk Pan needs replaced due to rust issues in the very back where it meets the tail panel. It's ok to drive for now, but is rusted through and needs replaced. Chrome / Stainless in good shape All trim and emblems still in tact and appear to be complete. The interior is in great shape. All of the buttons, switches and knobs appear to be in place and in good shape. The floor pans are also in good shape in my opinion. I see no rust through. The seats appear to be reupholstered in the 90's and are in great condition. Still has the original green paint under the an enamel paint job from what appears to be the 60's... The 60's paint job is cracking like an egg shell and the patina looks amazing. The engine turns over very easy under own power and with it's original key. It will start and run, but I think one of the valves are stuck open and it's hard to start. When it does kick over and run, you can easily hear that the engine is good and has good compression and runs relatively smooth. No slap, smoke or knock...engine appears to be good. In the photo, you will see an old chevrolet 2bbl carb on the engine, The previous owner put that on there to get it running, but I have the original side draft carburetor that only needs a kit. I also have the original air cleaner and oil bath breather in the trunk of the car. I have 3 of the door panels (good for a template to have new ones made), and they still have the good power window switches and arm rest pad so I kept them. --> I have a few other photos if you need them. Clear Texas Title. The car is located in Denison, Texas (1 hour North of Dallas) and I have it listed for sale locally which gives me the right to end the auction early if it sells. Feel free to come inspect the car if you have any questions. ---> I would consider trades of equal value: 4x4 Cummins Diesel Dodge 4x4 TruckToyota LandcruiserDodge Ford or Chevy Panel Truck, Panel Wagon from the 40's or 50'sOld Trucks / Pickups from the 40's - 50's - 60'sShort School Bus from the 40's - 50'sWhat do you have ?
