Vehicle Detail
You are viewing my 1976 CB750F. She's called "Pegasus" and took me over 2 years to build. The donor bike was stripped down and every nut and bolt has been replaced, polished or upgraded in most cases to polished stainless steel Allen bolts. Simply put, no expense was spared on this build, it does not drip any oil. It runs and sounds amazing. It looks way better in person and I have simply nothing left I can possibly do to it. I have receipts inches thick that will be included with the purchase. As an example of how this build has constantly evolved I have just installed in the past few weeks a brand new battery, an APE CAM chain tensioner and spent $250.00 on the Joker Machine shop LED mini turn signals front and rear. Also I switched out the master cylinder for a GSX Nissin and added new GSX adjustable levers. It has under "1000 miles" on a cylinder 900cc "resleeve" not a big bore!..and she is tuned, runs and sounds amazing! This bike is a jaw dropper if you want something no one else has especially if you love the old CB's. I run the bike ever so slightly rich which gives the bike a light vintage sounding burble and popping on deceleration. There are a few little blemishes here and there as it is ridden but there is not a part of this bike that has not been gone through. You really must see this bike to truly appreciate it. Sadly the pictures just do not do this bike any justice. The color is a Chrysler Vanilla with silver and black checkers. It has been about 1 month since the resleeve from the 830cc to the 900cc. I could od rebored but I wanted to do it right so I have a K3 head resleeved with CB900 cylinder sleeves and CB900 pistons. The resleeve has just about 650 miles and the head was done at the same time. The prior head in the photo album is off the prior F2 head and cylinders which was also fully reworked and rebuilt at great expense when the 836cc work was done earlier this year however the F2 head's are notorious for leaks due to their design and one of the threads was compromised in the F2 head it and it had a very minor drip through that compromised thread and it drove me crazy. I could not live with that. Ultimately I decided to replace the cylinders and head to a K3 and rework them both for improved power and long term reliability and "no drip" Now there is no drip of any kind and it runs like a freight train! An expensive proposition but to me I had to have this bike done right with no leaks. I will try to list as much as I can but I know I am forgetting things but by updating this listing I'm sure I have most of everything listed now...its a lot!, also I have about 200+ photos of the build documented and a crappy Youtube video while the bike is cold at high idle. I will try and do a better video with the bike warmed up and better quality with a slower smoother walk around. As I said this bike has constantly evolved as you can see by my photo link.....however as of today there will be no more changes and picture #1 is the final upgrade I wanted to do to make her perfect and now she is in my opinion. Please feel free to ask me questions. Thanks for looking! I just went out into the garage and took some more pictures and I added them to the link. http://s1127.photobucket.com/user/oldroyd/library/CB750F1%20Pegasus%20Custom%20project?sort=6&page=1 Tires & Oil - The tires definitely do not need replacing. The tires especially the front is in great shape as they only have 3000 easy test/break in miles on them. However I do have a brand new in the wrap matching Bridgestone White lettered rear tire that I will include with the bike so you have many thousands of miles of tire. Oil, The oil I run is the Belray EXL Mineral 4T 20w-50, I use this oil because it is very similar to the oils from the 1970's where upon oils and gasoline back in the day is certainly not the same as today. Many guys use various oils in their CB's such as Castrol 20/50 and obut the old timers steered me this way because of the "Mineral". The bike has already had 3 oil changes, the first being at 450 miles and I was planning another oil change at 4500 miles and then go to 3000 ,miles between oil changes.. A couple of oil filters and several gaskets are included. Oil Tank Emblem - I have added to the above link pictures of the oil tank emblem clear coat burn from the adhesive. I do have another brand new metal emblem plus the brand new oil tank side cover that was painted at the same time. "see pictures" The oil tank I wanted exposed for an industrial/vintage look. However I like options...so I am including the brand new freshly painted cover and extra emblem that would take just a little effort to fit cover the tank... it is an option should you want to. Extras - Please see pics...The huge file folder is receipts, many people have asked me how much I have spent, the answer is I do not want to know and I am not going to be adding them up. Its a lot and if I add them up I would likely be keeping the bike however the receipts will come with the bike and the buyer can add them up. There is also a box included of bits and pieces such as a couple of oil filters and seals, a manual that has seen better days, a spare set of CB900 piston rings, a few engine side cover gaskets, a set of spare clutch springs....there are two sets with the bike heavy duty and OEM, the OEM makes for a softer pull and the heavy duty makes for a firmer clutch release. Also I have a spare APE clutch very low miles. I actually switched from the acclaimed APE clutch to the OEM after a couple of hundred miles to compare and they are both good but the OEM Honda clutch is in there at the moment. Also included is some of the original paint to touch up anything in case you need it. There is a roll of silver/black chequer vinyl I had made. There is some extra gel padding for the seat. The seat is now super comfy and you can adjust what's in there if you wish but I think it is perfect right now. Assorted jets included - Currently I am running 40/140 jets and I am about 250ft above sea level and have rode Ortega up to 4000 ft or so but I like the bike to run ever so slightly rich over lean. You may or may not want to lean her out a little so I will include various sets of main jets so you can have her to your liking. It only takes a 5-10 minutes to switch out jets so it is nice to have several sizes, I think I have had her all the way down to 125 which she has also performed well with....just leaner. Perhaps I did not note this but the seat lifts out and you have access to the tail section...please see the latest pics in the link. Under the hump is a storage area where upon there is room for tools plus some. The set of Honda tools is included and there is room for another bag on the other side for gloves or whatever, also there is a tray next to the battery that I keep some spare fuses and plugs and an LED tail light bulb. I keep my riding documentation under the seat both seat and tool area is very quickly accessible. Shipping tips - As far as shipping I just shipped using Uship and I actually ended up "by choice" paying a shipper an extra $120.00 than was estimated just a couple of weeks ago but that was an 760 lb bike and I wanted a specific type of shipper to bring that bike as it was very heavy "for an inexperienced shipper" so that bike required a specialist. If you purchase a motorcycle on Ebay and use Uship, Uship independent approved Shippers will contact you based on the shipment you list on their bidding board. You in turn choose the shipper you want to use after reading their reviews and specialties. "kind of like Ebay for shipping" This bike weighs quite a bit less than an original CB so I would guess she is around 435 lbs. However if you purchase this motorcycle I suggest adding in the notes that a rear tire and a 10lb box are going with the bike. I think most bikes shipped come with a box or a few extras but make sure you list it so your shipping quote is accurate. Title - After the build was completed I took my "Bill of Sale" to the CA DMV where upon they noted the bike had been out of the system for decades in fact I learned there are no records for many of these old bikes under similar circumstance. I was sent to the CHP for a VIN inspection on the motor and frame and it was signed off by the CHP and shown to be clean. Then it was back to the CA DMV for a DMV inspection which was completed and signed off on also. then I was issued a new title from the California DMV. It reads as a 1976 CB750. California tags are now paid up until September 2015. Please do your due diligence. Out of state and out of country buyers are responsible for "any and all fees" incurred including transportation and/or taxes or any other such fees incurred to transfer title into the new owners name. CA DMV issued title and receipts come with the motorcycle. Motorcycle is Sold As Is and where is! There will be a $500.00 payment due at close with remainder of payment due within 7 days. I will assist with accommodating your shipper. Thanks again for looking!
