This Mustang would be considered by some as a 1964 1/2 according to vin number on door plate however, the engine I think is a 302 instead of a 289. The transmission is a 4-speed instead of the 3-speed. According to the previous owner the engine was supposed to have been rebuilt before he got it which was about 25 years ago. He drove the car very little in that time. I got the car about 1 year ago. I installed 4 new tires, battery, fuel sending unit, rebuilt the 4-barrel Holley carburetor, installed a new aluminum radiator. I have drove the car about 25 miles since. The seats appear to have been re-done but most of the interior would need to be restored. The car has gauges on the steering column and a console but doubt they were original equipment. The exterior would need to be restored also. The body is pretty solid for an old car but does have places that would need attention with a dent on lower driver door. The underside of the car was rusty looking and is not perfect but also looks pretty solid and doesn't look like it has been replaced. I have since painted the underside.The engine compartment looks like it has had damage on driver side inner fender at some point where the vin number should be. The exhaust has been replaced also by the previous owner. This should be a real good restoration project for someone wanting a early mustang. I have decided at my age I do not need to start rebuilding anything. I will require cash or certified check. Buyer will be responsible for any transportation or shipping cost.
