I bought this car from a collector in Oregon in late 2012 and had it thoroughly inspected by North American Muscle Cars Portland, Oregon at that time. The car was verified as matching numbers with no major issues identified. VIN and fender tag codes verified by Hamtramck Registry. Body VIN stamps match front and rear. Please see photos of VIN tag and engine stamp. The car has been garage kept at my home in the Miami area in a climate controlled garage. Although not a show car she’s in excellent condition as you can see from the photos (please see link to 70 plus photos). This car I believe is far better than “driver” level but not national level show quality so it’s hard to classify her. Obviously there has been a prior sympathetic restoration but it appears the exact details have been lost to time. It’s clear that this car has been babied. Only six JS27 (Challenger, special, convertible) were made in DY3 paint so this could be the only DY3 R/T convertible extant. I really like the color; to me it’s similar to the primrose XKE Jag color, sort of light yellow; a perfect period color. As you can imagine this car gets a lot of attention, endless thumbs up! Driving with the ragtop down is a blast! As of 5/7/2014 the odometer reads 19,562. I assumed this meant 119,562 but I think this may be 19,562 on the rebuild/restoration? Clear FL title in my name. Condition: She starts every time and has never left me stranded. Runs and drives great with plenty of awesome torque and of course that fantastic Mopar big block V8 rumble. On the hottest Miami days I occasionally have experienced vapor lock at idle in traffic but that can be remedied by applying a little throttle at idle. Great oil pressure, no smoke and not a single overheat even on 95 degree days in traffic. Tracks well and stops without drama. The engine compartment is clean and tidy as you can see. New correct hood pad installed late 2012. I bought a cool vintage looking battery from Restoration Battery new in 8/2013; it looks like an original assembly line battery but is maintenance free (AGM I would guess). A really nice looking stainless exhaust is installed that looks as new. I had a new OEM fuel tank, fuel lines and fuel filler neck installed. All four tires look as new. Great looking 15" rally wheels in excellent condition. Paint is not show quality, but as you can see from the photos is really nice and far better than average. There are a few minor defects that I’ve tried to show in the photos. The chrome bumpers look great, some of the window surround chrome has light scuffing. There is no sign of rust by me and no rust found when professionally inspected by North American Muscle Cars. You can run a magnet all over this car confirming the quality of the body work. Gaps look great. The power top works great and the top itself looks as new. The seats all look great with no rips or tears. The carpet is great and there are new correct floor mats all around. Reproduction owner’s manual and shop manual included. To do list: The radio is non-operational (original 8-track), but I didn’t have it looked at because I prefer to listen to the car when I drive it. I had the brake master and booster rebuilt but I just noticed some fluid weeping at their interface so that should be looked at. The electronic tachometer can be temperamental and sometimes non-functional. The windows need a little assist in the upward direction (only that last ½ inch is slow!) and the driver door switches for the passenger window and quarter vents can be temperamental. There are a few little interior screws missing. The air filter assembly I’m told is from a ’71, but it looks great so I didn’t replace it. Well, I hate to see her go, but I need the space; next car incoming. The car is garaged at my house about 20 min. south of FLL and about 30 min. north of MIA. I can assist your transporter or recommend one; shipping overseas can be easily arranged (minutes from Port of Miami or Port Everglades/Lauderdale). Please note that I am an enthusiast but not a muscle car expert. Inspections welcome at any reasonable place and time and in a reasonable manner. Car is sold “as is” without warranty of any kind.
