Vehicle Detail
1979 Porsche 911SC Up for auction this beautiful “SC” Coupe finished in Guards Red over Cork interior. It is the beneficiary of a full engine overhaul less than 20,000 miles ago. This 911 is in very good condition both cosmetically and mechanically It runs beautifully and is tight and responsive... it is everything a Porsche should be. This car is being listed with NO RESERVE, the highest bidder gets the privilege of owning this 911 so bid to win! -Exterior- The body is in very good condition, any imperfections are limited to a small handful couple of typical rock chips, but nothing worth noting. This car is rust free including the trunk, battery tray and floors, it is certainly one of the cleaner 911 out there. The car is further complimented by 7" Fuchs up front and super rare 9" Fuchs wheels in the back, all of which are blemish free and in very good condition. Tires are practically brand new, with approximately 95+% of the tread remaining. -Interior- The interior is in very good shape, the seats have been freshly reupholstered. Even though the carpets are original, they are in presentable shape for their age.The door panels are in outstanding condition. The dash is in mint condition with no cracks, warping or other imperfections. -Engine & Transmission- The engine was rebuilt less than 20,000 miles ago, while I do not have the records for the rebuild, I had the car gone over by my Porsche mechanic (who works excursively on Porsche and specializes in air cooled models), he verified that the motor was in fact recently rebuilt and said that "whoever did the work was a professional and knew what they were doing ...they put alot of time and money into the motor"...this is coming from someone who has spent many decades working on these cars. Within the scope of work, the head studs have been replaced, the intake has been polished, hydraulic "Carrera" oil fed chain tensioners have been added etc...The same mechanic performed a tune up on this beast, to make sure the 3.0 litre pumps out every last bit of horsepower. The engine runs extremely strong, has great compression, starts up on the first try each and every time and does not burn or leak any oil, it is a great running and powerful 911. The transmission shifts seamlessly through the gears with no slipping or grinding. There are no strange noises or vibrations from the engine or drive train, all you hear is the music of the flat six. The ride in this 911 is great, there are no squeaks, rattles or other unwanted noises, the car drives straight and true...there is nothing indicating this car is over 35 years old! I do not have a vehicle history report as they were not available for cars prior to the 1981 model year, however there is absolutely no indication of the car ever having accident damage. The car is free on any liens and I have a clean title in hand. When the previous owner applied for title, there was an error at the department of motor vehicles where they added a 1 to the mileage in the paperwork thereby adding a hundred thousand miles...not that the DMV hasn't been known to make a mistake. I believe the mileage on the odometer to be correct as it runs and drives like a low mileage car, but cannot verify one way or another so please use your own judgment when bidding. -TERMS OF SALE- I have full faith in the quality of this vehicle and confidence in the accuracy of it’s description, but encourage perspective buyers to inspect the vehicle in person BEFORE the auction ends.
