Vehicle Detail
Selling at No Reserve. 1991 Mazda MiataFinished in classic white exterior with black interior. This is nice running Miata that I've owned for a few years that I would drive anywhere: Florida, California, wherever. I have had no issues and it starts every time, even after sitting for the winter. It has over 160,000 miles and is a 1991 model, so it has wear and tear and if you are looking for a concours classic to store this is not the car for you. But if you want a fun, cute, reliable car -- look no further. You can see from the pics that it's a really nice car. At the price I am selling it for you could drive it for a year, resell it, and not lose a dime, you might even make a few bucks! It's really a good price. Anyone who sees it in person will buy it. Please read the entire description, the good, bad, and ugly before bidding. I am an honest Ebayer and I tell it like it is and do my best to describe the car accurately. I'm not a dealer, not trying to make money or disappoint anyone, just selling a car I no longer need. Of course, I would prefer a local buyer who can stop by in person and take the car for a drive, or even a PPI (pre purchase inspection), as the car is sold as is, where is and I don't want a bidder that backs out. I won't refund the deposit or cancel the sale. If you are unsure, don't have time to read the description, or are making an impulsive bid I ask that you do us both a favor and not bid. I bought this car for a fun, affordable diversion to drive on the weekends when the weather was nice and it has been great. I've loved my evenings on back roads with the top down and my son in the passenger seat -- just driving for the pleasure of it. It would make a nice first car, college student car, or just a fun second car. I am selling the car because I have a two car garage and I bought a Porsche Boxster this year and my other car is a new Mercedes sedan. I store the Mazda in the garage and I need the room! First, I am not a mechanic and can't verify anything I'm stating -- I can only give you my honest impression. It has a newer top, a replacement engine, and new seats. I think I spent $800 for the seats to be reupholstered. The interior looks very nice for its age and miles and the exterior looks okay. The man I bought the car from had it painted and it's not a high quality paint job and the exterior probably looks better in the pics than in real life (they always do on Ebay). I just washed it and took shots with my cell phone. It looks great from maybe six feet but a close inspection reveals that the paint isn't perfect. Plenty of little chips that have been touched up and the like. Don't get me wrong, I've been very happy with the way it looks, and I would not have it repainted as it is just a fun weekend car for me. But it isn't a concours car or "garage queen" by any means and if you are looking for a classic that you can show at events -- this is not the car for you. It's been a cute fun, reliable car for me. In the three years I have owned it NOTHING has gone wrong. It's been wonderful. As far as I know everything works except as to be mentioned. What's wrong: The stereo works fine but it's hard to get the volume to go up and down. You have to play with the knob. I just leave it at a volume I like and turn it off and on at that volume. The emergency brake lever doesn't work. Probably a snapped cable. Again, when I park I just put it in first and haven't bothered with it. I suppose you could take it to Pep Boys or wherever and have it repaired, but it has been of zero value to me. I go to the store, park it in first gear, and it's just a no issue for me. Well, that's it. All the dials, lights, switches, seats, top, etc. etc. etc. work fine. Plenty of tread on the newer tires. MILEAGE. (danger danger danger) The miles are original, but the title says not original. Since the car has over 160,000 miles and is over 20 years old I really didn't care if it had 160K or 2 million miles, but here is the story: The man I bought the car from, in Dayton, Ohio, bought it from his friend. It was sitting for a couple years in a shed as the engine needed work. The guy I bought it from replaced or rebuilt the engine. When he went to transfer the title in his name they asked the seller, his friend, the mileage. He said he couldn't remember but thought is was X miles. So, the title is marked not actual. However, the guy who I bought it from said, yes, it IS the actual miles, his buddy just didn't remember -- no tampering etc., no work on the odometer, miles listed are actual. His buddy lives now in Illinois and it wasn't worth the trouble getting his affidavit stating miles are actual, but in the end, I didn't care, I wasn't buying it for any reason other than to have summer fun. So, there you go, miles are actual, but title won't say so, and in the end, I'm not sure it matters. It didn't matter in the least to me! I had looked for a Miata for a while and after I drove it I knew this was the one. I just had my mechanic look over the car (passed with flying colors) and he recharged the AC, put a new AC connector valve in, and tested the AC. It works great. Blows ice cold air!!! It's best to email questions as I am always on the internet.
