Vehicle Detail

1987 BMW 635 CSI L6 HighLine Selling this running BMW 635, please review this listing and photos and feel free to contact me with any questions. I'll do my best to cover all the bases in this description as this car is not showroom quality (but it is a good value if you're looking for a restoration candidate or a fun project car). This is a really cool car and is the rare HighLine (all leather interior, even the headliner) version. The straight six is strong and pulls like a freight train, car handles well with the 16" wheels and new struts and sway bar bushings and links all the way around. If you want to tackle the cosmetic work, this could be a great runner. Haven't had any major electrical issues in the time we've owned it (which is the big car-killing gotcha on these old Bimmers). And, it has 90% of the original BMW tool kit in the trunk (missing rag, bulbs and the linesman's pliers). Purchased 6 years ago - odometer gear is stripped so this vehicle likely has more than the listed odometer reading (we put less than 1000 miles on the car since we've owned it). The car starts and runs, and the electrical accessories except the A/C and several lines of the rear defogger are in working condition. We've replaced many parts on the car and it is a great value in parts alone. We'll also provide several parts that we have laying around. Parts replaced (we've taken care of a LOT of the most common mechanical issues with the 6ers):New batteryBBS 16" Alloy wheels with new (less than 100 miles) Hankook 225/50R16 Ventus Noble S2 All-Season Performance Tires (can provide the original TRX bottle cap wheels with like-new Michelin TRX tires as well - great winter tires)New front and rear struts and strut mountsNew dogbone links and sway bar bushings (front and rear)New front and rear brake pads, new rear rotors, new DOT 4 brake fluidNew CD player with MP3 input, 4-channel amplifier and front speakersNew air filter, transmission filter, fuel pressure regulator and fuel filterNew water pump and viscous linkageNew beltsNew Starter, distributor cap and rotorNew valve cover gasket (and set valve lash to factory specs)New exhaust hangers and mountsChanged steering wheel to non-Airbag version (airbag models have a tendency to go off without warning)New cabin temperature sensor and heater solenoid, Blower motor was removed, cleaned and lubricatedFront driver's side comfort seat has a couple repairs (not cosmetically perfect, repaired several rips with sailcloth) Will also include the following parts: additional valve cover gasket, front tie rods (inner and outer w/ sleeves), pitman arm and drag link, extra shifter assembly, original airbox assembly, original horsehair seat cushion, a can of factory matched spray paint, a 12V heater blower, a bunch of extra motors and linkages for BMW comfort seats, and a new box of K&N air filter oil and cleaner Issues with car to our knowledge (I am listing very honestly as I don't want you to have any surprises but this list may not be comprehensive):Cosmetics - Paint is in rough shape, worn clear coat and has several repairs that are not factory quality (rear quarters had rust cut out and repaired with fiberglass, front driver fender had same), hood has a couple dings (guessing previous over closed it on some tools), rear fascia between tail lights has some minor rust, front air dam is split in the center Electrical - A/C (both front and rear does not work)Mechanical - could use the BMW big brake upgrade up front to bring performance into the 2000s, has a minor rubbing between the passenger rear brake rotor and a little rust on the heat shield, needs a few new brake line holders Vehicle is being sold as is - we really need to get the garage space back, will work with the shipper of your choice to get it to you (you pay shipping costs).
