Here is the description that came with the car: For Auction is a 1961 Austin Healey Sprite. Car recently resurrected after sitting in a basement for 28 years. Rebuilt carbs, and distributor, major tuneup, new fuel pump, oil change, fuel tank dropped and cleaned, 3/4" Master cylinder rebuilt, and then the car was parked about 6 months ago. To run it will likely need brake hoses, rear wheel cylinders, battery, and a fuel clean out again. Tires are 30 years old. The top is there but not in good shape, and carpet is missing, but the seats are in decent original condition. Side curtains are there, but mostly shot. This is a gray market Sprite and when it was brought into South Carolina, the state assigned their own VIN for what ever reason. Since then all brakes, wiring, clutch, seats, carpets, dashboard, tires, disc brakes, all such bushings, shocks, hood replaced. Correct hardtop and correct side curtains added. Engine runs well, but will need bearings and rings replaced someday. Engine currently bore 0.030", bearings 0.020" oil pump, water pump, alternator new, cam bearings new. SU hs44 carburetor with KN air filter. Lucas D23 distributor from Mini Cooper. Smooth case gearbox in good shape. Sold where is as is. Also for sale locally, so right to end auction is reserved.
