Vehicle Detail
All original 1955 Dodge 1 ton truck. Cab and undercarriage in excellent condition with minor dings, some surface rust, and patina. It has a 241 V-8 engine with a 4-speed manual transission. The flatbed lifts for dumping. It served as a local farm truck all its life and has not had much long-distance travelling, if any. Truck is located Near Troy, Idaho (Shipping zip code 83871) This truck has not been driven since 1989 when it developed a brake issue. It was stored in a shed for most of the time and protected from the weather. Cab: The cab is solid. As near as I can tell, the floorboards are solid with surface rust only The cab corners are solid with no rust, cancer, or bubbles, as is the rest of the body. The only cancer I found is on the bottom of the driver's door as shown in the photos. There are a few monor dings also shown in the photos. The emblems appear to be in excellent condition. Its missing the right side headlight trim ring. The lever that holds the hood open on the left side needs to be rewelded to the firewall. The back window is cracked, the windshield looks good and the side windows are usable. It needs wiper blades. Drivetrain: The engine is the optional 241 V-8 (not considered a Hemi). It was running great when this truck was parked. The idle years have taken a toll on the engine and it is currently seized up. This engine has never been rebuilt or modified and I don't think it would take much to get it going. It has a 4-speed transmission which always worked well, the clutch was good and the driveline and differential were fine. The truck rolls easily for loading on a trailer. The truck was parked because one of brakes was grabbing and this was never checked out further, so that will have to be addressed. This is a 6-Volt/Negative ground electrical system. It is not possible to give an accurate mileage figure due to the glass on the speedometer, but I believe it to under 70,000 (according to the prior owner). The rear tires were new when truck was parked , all tires now show some weather-check but do hold air well. 6+6 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Interior: the seat is showing its age with hardening and ripping of the vinyl seatcover, but it is complete and the cushion material under the cover seems good. The dash is in excellent condition. The glass over the instrument cluster is too obscure to read the gauges. They all (fuel, oil pressure, ammeter, speedometer, etc.) worked when the truck was parked. Take into consideration that all the above desciptions are relative to a truck that is about 59 years old and has not been started, run, or driven since 1989. I have tried to show as much as possible with the photos, but it would be much better if you could inspect it personally to verify my descriptions. I have the free and clear title in my name. This truck is sold as is/where is in a "No Reserve" auction. Winning bidder will be responsible for any and all shipping/hauling arrangements, fees and costs. A non-refundable deposit of $200.00 (through PayPal) is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction and truck must be paid in full and removed from the property within 7 days of the end of the auction. The truck and title will not be released until all funds have cleared my bank (Cash would be best). Seller reserves the right to decline questionable bids and bidders (those who show excessive negative feedback, etc). Thank you in advance. Please e-mail if you have questions pertaining to this truck and I will try to provide a reply (allow plenty of time for a response as I am not on the internet every day)
