We bought this car last year for our son to use in college in New Mexico. The car had then 122000 miles. Since we intended to keep it for a long time, we replaced several parts: the motor mounts, the transmission mount, ball joints, control arm bushings, coil springs, any hose that seemed old, flushed the suspension fluid and put correct mercedes fluid in the system. The previous owner had the exhaust system replaced. We bought four michelin defender tires (transferable warranty from discount tire). We have not had to do any repairs since then and we don't think that the car needs any now. The car feels very tight and sporty. There is no play in the steering, corners well, as well as a 911 porsche. It goes on the interstate without any effort from 70 to 80. The car has absolutely no rust. The interior is good, a tear starts to form in one seat, but the carpet and headliner are very nice. The car does not leak and the engine and transmission are good. The car has been repainted, the paint is not flaking or peeling. The car has a child bench in the back. The ac worked for a short while and then quit. I bought a remanufactured denso compressor which is not installed, comes with the car. The seats don't go up and down. I used later model mercedes seats, (late nineties) which are more comfortable. They come with the car, I also have some seat motors and frames. We sell this car because someone offered us his 1998 E 320 wagon and we bought it, since it has more safety features.
