Vehicle Detail

1940 Studebaker Champion Business Coupe Street Rod Available for sale is this 1940 Studebaker Champion Business Coupe Street Rod. She has been modernized for cruisin’ comfort and reliability and is ready to hit the street. You’ll note that the car is not a perfect car – rather she needs some TLC here and there – but this is why the reserve is very low. You see, she was owned by an in-law and he let the car sit when he became ill; and has since passed. It is a very nice car – and someone put a lot of time and money into it, so take a look at all the information. Engine/Trans – modern Chevy small block with Edelbrock 1405 4-barrel carb and Edelbrock intake manifold. HEI distributor, electric fan and electric fuel pump, runs very well. Transmission is an automatic – I presume a TH350, but not certain. Dual exhaust. Chassis – modern front end with FORD rack and pinion steering, leaf spring rear suspension. Wheels are chromed-steel Cragars. Brakes – updated power brakes with front discs Electrical – modern wiring harness by American Autowire, Autometer and Sunpro gauges – all working, added third brake light – working. Headlights, blinkers, flashers, taillights, dash lights, windshield wipers all working. Power terminals on right rear of the car are connected and operational. Car is completely 12v with a GM one-wire alternator. Interior – Grey carpeted with matching seats, sunvisors and headliner. Tilt steering wheel. The driver’s door glass has a crack in one of the layers – you can see it, but it still holds together fine. Windows roll up and down fine. INDY floor shifter, Sun tachometer, interior hood release. Body – some imperfections here and there. The left rear quarter panel had been scraped in a parking incident, and the door bottoms could use some attention. Extra matching paint comes with the car so if you attempt repair of any body areas, you have the paint. The trunk lid latch needs to be installed – has an electric release partially installed. Trunk – modern fuel cell in trunk, also battery is located in the trunk and has it’s own matching cover box. Note that the trunk is trimmed in the same fashion as the interior. As I mentioned, the car sat for a while before I got it, so it isn’t perfect. I rebuilt the Edelbrock 1405 4-barrell carb right away and she fired right up. She runs and drives well. Little TLC things you might want to tackle are the driver door glass, the door bottoms and a good detail session. Ready to run and drive today – just bump the key and off you go. You are welcome to visit the car by appointment before the auction ends. If the car is being shipped, I can assist locally – Baltimore metro area delivery is free. I reserve the right to cancel the auction (before the reserve is met) since the car is also available for sale locally. If you must have it now – and want to ‘Buy it Now’, please drop me a note and make an offer. If we come to an agreement, I will add a Buy-It-Now option to the auction with your offered price. Otherwise, I will be letting the auction run it’s course. Don’t ask what the reserve is – it is probably substantially lower than you might think. Be sure to see the additional pictures and video of it running at the link below. http://s1267.photobucket.com/user/MuscleCarRescue/library/1940%20Studebaker%20Champion%20Business%20Coupe
