Vehicle Detail

I bought this 1951 Ford F5 COE several years ago, but finally realize that I am to old for so many projects. This is an unusual truck in that it has both a PTO driven 15,000 lb Tulsa winch and a hydraulic dump bed. It is set up to put the winch in neutral and lock the drum to operate the dump bed. I did a quick rewire of the ignition to get it running, but did not check out the charging system brakes, gauges, etc. I installed a new battery. I also installed a new starter solenoid, but is doesn't work right now. I start it straight to the starter. I did not clean out the fuel tank, but use a small external tank to feed the engine to check it out and move the truck around. It runs amazingly well with little or no smoke. The engine has Mercury heads, but don't know if the whole engine was change to Mercury or just the heads. The clutch works great. I didn't check out the two speed rear end, but I think it is in the low range and drives fine. The floor in the truck is solid with no rust that I found. A hole was cut in the floor for the dump lever. The roof is not dented, but there are 8 small holes where a light bar or something was once installed. There is also one other hole, probably for a wire to the light bar. See picture. There are a few small areas of rust through on the body, but overall, the body is very straight. I marked the rust areas with black circles on the pictures. Both windshield and back glass are broken, but could be used for a template. The door glass is missing. The wing glass is original and bubbled. There is a two directional PTO take off on the transmission that works with a pull knob on the dash. The winch direction can be changed from there. The dump unit is a very large single piece unit connected to the PTO driveshaft. The dump bed does not work and I didn't add hydraulic fluid to check it. I just noticed that the dump body was made by Anthony Co. of Streator, Illinois and is rated at 8.5 tons. The tires are old, cracked and bad, but hold air for loading and transport. I am including 4 wheels with Budd lugs and lug wrench so the single rear wheels can be changed back to original duals. The guy I bought the truck from wanted the single wheels and had them custom made. Ebay requires listing the mileage. I have no idea as to the actual mileage on the vehicle. The truck can be easily driven onto a trailer or other transport. Buyer must pick up at my home, or arrange a shipper to do so. Please email or call 970-222-2303 for more information.
