Vehicle Detail
1967 Lincoln Continental 4 door convertible. This suicide door Lincoln is just out of storage after 26 years, sitting in a garage on a concrete floor. When parked this was a running driving car, but after all those years although it is currently not running, but it is still in remarkable condition. This Lincoln is powered by a 462 CI / 345 HP engine, a C6 transmission, and a 9" equa-lock rear end. Currently the carburetor is off of the car and disassembled, but I do have it. The engine turns over and is not seized. The odometer reads 84,819 and that is believed to be accurate, but I do not have any documentation. I think this car has every available option known to man in 1967, including an 8-track tape player, and at least 5 cigarette lighters. The convertible top is original and starting to show it's age with a couple seams opening up, but it does not leak. The interior looks very good to be that old, the seats have the usual cracks in the leather, and the dash pad and the instrument panel looks great. The glass all looks good with no cracks, chips, or wiper marks and the back convertible window is real glass. Overall the body is very straight, and all of the trim is very nice. There is some through rust in the bottoms of both quarter panels, and in the dog legs behind the rear doors, and that is it, there is no other rust in the body and the belly of the car is rock solid with no rust damage in the floors or structure of the car. When you think about this Lincoln being 47 years old and one of only 2,276 built that year, this car is a true survivor and deserves a quality restoration. I purchased this car with the intensions of restoring it myself, but have since found a Mustang GT Fastback that I would rather spend my time on, and no longer have enough indoor storage to accommodate the Lincoln. You can tell by looking at the pictures that this car has never been abused or molested in any way, so if you are looking for and easy restoration on a low production classic that someday will be worth a ton of money, here is your chance. In my opinion to get this Lincoln on the road you would have to rebuild the carburetor, clean the tank and fuel system, tune it up, go through the brakes, replace some of the exhaust, and replace the tires. I have tried to describe this old car to the best of my ability but have probably missed something that you need to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect the car prior to the end of the auction again just ask and arrangements will be made. This car will need to be hauled or trailered, and the buyer will be responsible for all transportation costs if required. Good Missouri title, also have owners manual, build sheet. On May-03-14 at 17:39:25 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several people ask about the condition of the engine so today I stuck a used carburetor on the engine and tried to start it. It turns over and will start with starting fluid but only runs a few seconds. It is not getting fuel so I would assume that the fuel pump is bad. The short time the engine was running it sounded very good, nothing knocking or banging. On May-07-14 at 08:53:21 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve on the 4 door Lincoln convertible has been removed and the car will sell to the high bidder. This is a very nice unmolested survivor and the winning bidder will not be disappointed. Good luck in the bidding!
