2001 SAAB 9-3 TURBO
THIS IS A "MECHANICS SPECIAL" AUCTION FOR A NICE LOOKING SAAB THAT WAS JUST TRADED INTO OUR DEALERSHIP. COSMETICALLY OVERALL IT IS A NICE CAR, BUT IT NEEDS SOME MECHANICAL WORK & ENGINE WORK.
THIS CAR ACTUALLY RUNS AND DRIVE VERY GOOD WITH A NICE QUIET, SMOOTH RIDE. HOWEVER, WE DON'T RECOMMEND DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE (NO MORE THAN A FEW MILES) BECAUSE THE ENGINE IS BURNING OIL AND COOLANT. IT PRODUCES MODERATE AMOUNTS OF SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST, BUT THE ENGINE STILL RUNS GOOD. THE TRANSMISSION WORKS GREAT. WE DON'T KNOW THE SOURCE OR CAUSE OF THE OIL/COOLANT CONSUMPTION PROBLEM.
THE PAINT AND BODY LOOK VERY GOOD WITH ONLY MINOR BLEMISHES HERE AND THERE LIKE SOME TINY PAINT CHIPS AND SOME LIGHT SCRATCHES.
THE INTERIOR LOOKS GOOD, BUT COULD USE A LITTLE DETAILING. THE ONLY REAL INTERIOR BLEMISH IS SOME SCRATCHES IN THE BLACK COATING ON THE CENTER CONSOLE. THERE ARE ALSO A COUPLE PLASTIC SCREW COVERS MISSING ON THE REAR DOORS AND THE PARKING BRAKE "BRUSH" TRIM IS MISSING ON ONE SIDE. OTHERWISE, THE INTERIOR IS GOOD.
MOST ALL THE POWER FEATURES WORK AS THEY SHOULD, INCLUDING THE WINDOWS, MIRRORS, SUNROOF, STEREO, ANTENNA, AND GAUGES. THE POWER LOCKS DON'T WORK.
THERE ARE MULTIPLE DASH "WARNING" LIGHTS ON. THESE INCLUDE, THE "TCS" LIGHT, "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT, "ABS" LIGHT, AND "BRAKE" LIGHT. THE SUSPENSION HAS A KNOCK IN THE LEFT FRONT OVER BUMPS AND THE MOTORS MOUNTS ARE FLAT CAUSING SOME VIBRATION IN THE CABIN AT IDLE.
THE A/C WORKS AND BLOWS COLD AIR.
THE ALLOY WHEELS LOOK GOOD WITH ONLY SOME MINOR BRAKE DUST STAINS IN THE CORNERS. THE MATCHING TIRES HAVE ABOUT 20% TREAD REMAINING IN FRONT AND ABOUT 60% REMAINING IN THE REAR.
