Vehicle Detail
You are viewing my beautiful bright red 1983 Porsche 911 SC sun roof coupe. The car has been adult owned and garaged it's entire life. It also has never been smoked in. It was professionally repainted years ago in it's original color and still shows very well. Obviously being an older repaint there are a few minor marks/blemishes, but nothing unsightly and could be professionally touched up quite easily. The car is beautiful and the few minor flaws are very hard to see from 5' away. As you can see in the pics the car is a looker! The owner prior to me was a Certified Porsche Tech since 1971 and performed all his own motor work including replacing head studs, timing chain, valve work, etc roughly within the last 20,000 miles or so. Does not smoke or burn excessive oil. It starts on the first turn of the key and runs very well (pic of engine was taken while it was running, which is why the fan blades are blurry). Oil pressure is great and car runs cool. The original matching numbers 3.0 liter engine is very dry, with little to no weeping (very common in these cars). The original 5 speed tranny was also completely rebuilt with all new synchros prior to my ownership, roughly 30,000 miles ago. There is a large thick folder of receipts/records totaling close to $20,000 (I only took pics of the larger $$$ receipts). The underside of the car is very clean as this has mostly been a Southern car. The car drives as a 911 should...tight and nimble. Steering is tight, shifting is crisp and precise with no synchro issues. Clutch is great. Braking is superb. The car tracks beautifully down the road with no wandering. The tires are newer with lots of tread left. Everything works on the car including the Factory Air Conditioning, sun roof, power windows, and even the clock keeps perfect time! The dash is beautiful with no warping or cracking! Blaupunkt CD player sounds great. Door panels are very nice as well. The headliner and carpet/mats are in good condition as well. All rubber window seals, etc are in great shape. The Carrera tail rubber piece has a few tiny places where it's got about a half inch split where it joins the deck lid. Doesn't look horrible, just not perfect. Can probably be repaired if so desired rather than replacing. Rear rubber bumperettes are nice. All body gaps are good. Prior to my ownership the factory seats were swapped out for CORBEAU racing seats (very comfortable and supportive, just not "factory") and the steering wheel switched to a suede covered MOMO wheel...love the size and feel! And yes, the horn buttons work! NOTE: I do have an era-correct pair of factory lightweight Porsche Sport Seats (leather) that need recovered. ***These are NOT included in the auction but may be purchased separately for $1,000 additional if desired.*** Additionally, I do not have the original Fuch's wheels. The rims currently on the car came off a newer 911. The correct space saver spare is in the front bonnet. All in all this is a fantastic older air cooled Porsche 911 that you can get in and drive across the country if desired. It is an absolute blast to drive and gets thumbs up every time I take her out. I am a private collector, not a dealer. The only reason I am selling her is my wife and I have decided to buy a new home and I am liquidating several cars from my collection to do so. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. This is a NO RESERVE auction so the last bid wins. I ask that you please have your finances in order BEFORE bidding. I require a $500 deposit through Paypal paid within 24 hours of winning ( I actually prefer it immediately so I know you're serious). I have had some bad experiences on here lately where people win and I never hear from them again. This is not a game. This costs me time and money to list, so if you are not serious please do not bid. This is an auction to buy my car, not to have an opportunity to haggle, think about it, ask the wife, play games, etc. Final payment is due within 5 business days of the auction's end. No excuses. I am located in Conway, SC just outside Myrtle Beach and will happily work with European buyers. The Port of Charleston is less than 3 hours from my home. Car is for sale in several venues so auction may end at any time. Clean, clear title is in my possession. Feel free to ask any questions or make an offer though the eBay system. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
