Up for sale is a 1940 Ford Truck that has just been removed from a sealed storage container after 20 years. This truck is a super nice project that allows you all the options to finish just as you want. The original motor threw a rod and was replaced with a 283 Chevy v8 by using a wishbone style adapter on the front of the frame to accept the Chevy motor mounts. The original frame was not altered in any way to install the Chevy motor. An adapter plate was then used to connect to the original 3speed transmission. I was told the motor ran when parked but after sitting 20 years the new owner will determine what drive train will ultimately be used. The body condition is great with only a few issues...cab corners, a spot on the side of the bed, and the tailgate has typical dents and dings. The rust seen in the pictures on the hood and fender is surface rust. The rest of the cab, front and rear fenders, and running boards are all in excellent condition for the age. The truck will come with some extra glass, and an additional hood and door. It also has a tub of parts including dash gauges, bezels, trim pieces etc that will go with the truck. So this truck can go together in whatever way you wish; back to original, rat rod, street rod. You will be starting with a very complete and well preserved vehicle.
