Vehicle Detail
I bought this 'Cuda last January from a long time friend. I have known the car for about 15 years and when my friend finally decided to sell it; I could not resist buying it. I had hoped to keep it for a LONG time but circumstances have changed and now I will be selling the 'Cuda. The mileage listed is approximate as the car is at my office garage and I am composing this auction from home. However the miles are correct and listed on the title as actual miles and I have kept a copy from the previous owner showing when he purchased the car in May of 90 with approximately 116,xxx miles. I have owned many Mopars and many other classic/collectible cars and in my opinion this "Cuda is VERY nice. Not perfect but VERY Nice. This is a matching numbers originally GY3 Curious Yellow 340 'Cuda. The previous owner used the car only as a show car and accumulated only approximately 10,000 miles in his 23 years of ownership. The car was restored as a bare metal respray in 1990 by the previous owner and professionally painted. The car looks like it was painted last year, not 24 years ago. The cost of the paint job in 1990 was almost $6000! If you have never seen a GY3 Curious Yellow car in person, it is very difficult to capture the true color of the car in photos. The color appearance will vary slightly from Lemon Twist Yellow towawrd almost Sassy Grass Green depending on light and shadow. At the time the car was painted the two rear quarters and trunk floor were replaced with new metal and appear as original. The trunk drip channels are beautiful and rust free. The engine is a matching numbers 340 Four Barrell with some performance bolt ons such as Edelbrock Aluminum Heads, Alum Intake and New Holley Street Avenger 670 Vacuum Secondary and Comp Cam. The original heads and intake will transfer with the car. The engine was rebuilt in 1990 and again a couple of years ago, only because the previous owner wanted to refresh it. The engine runs great and strong. The A727 Automatic is also matching numbers and has a fresh rebuild and shifts perfectly. The rear axle is a sure grip with 3.91 gears. This is not the original gear set, but really helps to get the car off the line. The front tires are new BFG 14 inch Radial T/A and the rears are fresh 15 inch Radial T/A on reproduction 15 inch rally wheels. The other two original rally wheels will transfer with the car. The front brakes are 11 inch drums and both front and rear brakes are recently redone and while not power, they function properly. 'The power steering is the fast ratio as fitted to the AAR 'Cudas (as all of the 340 power steering cars were). The front suspension was also recently rebuilt. The interior is the weak point in the car currently. The car was built as a split bench with column shift. The seat upholstery needs to be redone as there are some splits in some seams. The headliner should also be redone as there are also some minor splits in the seams. Also the carpet should be replaced as the previous owner at one installed an after market floor shifter and cut the carpet and drilled a small hole in the floor to accomodate the shifter. I have decided not to refresh the interior as the next owner might want to switch buckets and/or center console. No reason to spend the money only for the next owner to change it. All of the windows go up and down easily. The wiper motor was recently rebuilt so the arms will park properly. The door plungers were recently replaced and the dome light and key buzzer now work. The instrument panel lights do not work. I recently replaced the headlight dimmer switch, so it may just be a fuse, but the other light circuits on that fuse work properly. I also recently replaced the speedometer gear at the transmission so the speedometer gauge is accurate with the 3.91 gears. There is much more to say, but I think I will start the auction and let the interested buyers ask questions and I will either post the questions and answers or amend the description as necessary. Look at my feedback, it is perfect. I have both bought and sold many cars here on EBAY (as well as other stuff) and I intend to keep that feedback perfect. I require a $500 deposit by PayPal from the winning bidder with 48 hours of auctions end. If the winning bidder decides my description is not accurate or the cars condition is not as good or better than expected, I will refund the deposit, and we can part as friends. I require a cashier's check for the remainder of the purchase amount and the car will not leave my possession until the cashier's check clears or until I can verify the authenticity of the cashier's check. I encourage you to come see the car in person In Yorktown VA (home) or Williamsburg VA (office) in person or send an inspector/appraiser to view the car for you. I have described the car to the best of my ability but you or your agent may have a different opinion. I will assist the buyer with the logistics of transportation but the expenses of transportation belong the buyer. I may be willing to drive the car to the buyer if necessary (within a reasonable distance). The 'Cuda is absolutely road worthy and ready to go. Please ask your questions and I will respond as soon as I can. The car is currently garaged either in the garage attached to my office or at my home. I have uploaded lots of pictures to PhotoBucket but will take any picture you require, just let me know what you might like. http://s1047.photobucket.com/user/chasheidi/library/Mobile%20Uploads?sort=3&page=1You may be able to see pictures of 1969 Barracuda and a 1986 Porsche 911 that I previously owned and sold on Ebay.
