Vehicle Detail
Up for auction with no reserve, had to re list due to non paying bidder. 1 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9 NO RESERVE HIGHEST BIDDER TAKES IT HOME I will describe the jeep as best as I can, please keep in mind the jeep is 16 years old so its not perfect but its a great running and looking jeep for its age. If you have been looking for a 5.9 with low miles this is the one for you. Vehicle is being sold AS-IS. Repairs that it needs: Check engine light is on - ran a diagnosis on it and its showing code P0132 "02 Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1"Shocks are still good but the lower rubber bushings are worn, especially lower rubber bushings in the front shocks - I do have a pair of replacement rubber bushings that come with the jeep. I was going to replace all four shocks but many people like to lift these jeeps and that would just be a waste of money on my part. So I decided to sell it as is and let the new owner change them if he or she desired. Steering stabilizer shock is worn - it just started to leak so it will be time to replace Front of the engine has a very small leak. Looks like it needs a new front crank seal. It doesnt always leak but every few days I see a dime size leak in the driveway. So this is something that needs to be addressed. As far as rust I did take a picture of the only rust bubble on the jeep. It is located on the hood but its not noticeable due to the bug shield. I would say the rust bubble is about the size of a half dollar. Rear tires are in great shape almost new, fronts still have a little life left but need to be changed. Tires are Goodyear MT/R size 245/75/16 with Kevlar . Tires are loud but I dont mind - IT'S A JEEP! VIC - shows "Coolant Sensor Bad" however I have already replaced the sensors, after further research I found out that its a common problem for ZJ Jeeps. I guess its something wrong with the soldering in the VIC screen. The keyless entry remote sometimes works and sometimes it doesnt. I changed the battery but it still acts up so its time for a new remote. Part of the hood release handle to open the hood (the one inside the truck) broke off. However, hood release still operates and hood still opens as it doesn't effect it.AC system does hold freon but the compressor gave out last summer, so that would need to be replaced if you want AC. The leather steering wheel is in good shape. It is a 16 year old car so it does show some wear on the top of the steering wheel but it does clean nicely with leather cleaner. It not in bad shape where I would have to use a steering wheel cover. All windows work, including sun roofPower and heated mirrors work. One was replaced about 2 years with a new mirror. Driver side heated seat works, passenger does not. I did some research and some soldering would fix that problem. Power seats work the way they shouldThere are some paint chips and dents. Again its a 16 year old Jeep but the paint still shines nicely. There are a few chips but no major dents, I took pictures of where the clear coat is coming off. Most of it is in the rear bumper. The bottom of the inside of the doors were undercoated with a rubber undercoat (last time they were re-coated was this past fall). This has helped against the typical rust you see on ZJ Jeeps. The only rust bubble is the one by the bug shield which is shown in the pictures. Some rust on the inside of the tailgate but it doesn't show on the outside, see pictures. The jeeps all wheel drive works and so does the 4Lo (4x4) - this was tested earlier this winter during a snow stormThe leather seats are in great shape - no tears. If asked to rate them I would rate them above average for their age. Jeep does have all 4 original floor mats and the cover to the spare as you can see in one of the picturesThings that have been replaced within the last couple of years, I do have most of the receipts and those will be included with the jeep: Radiator recently replaced - purchased through Rock Auto - will provide warranty paper work Went ahead and changed the water pump when I changed the radiator Has new 180 degree thermostat Changed spark plugs and wires within the last 2 months - have the receipt TPS Sensor replaced Dropped the transmission pan this past fall and changed the solenoid and governor sensor along with fresh transmission fluid (didnt need solenoid and governor but I replaced them since I had to drop the pan to changed the fluid, just for preventative purposes.)Also changed the transmission speed sensor - just for preventative purposes Over the past summer I changed the differential fluidAlso changed the transfer case fluid this past summerBreaks were done about 2 years ago - used slotted rotors About 2 years ago electric cooling fan was replaced. Stereo head unit is an Alpine aftermarket unit - speakers have also been replaced with Alpine Type R's - kept same amplifier that came with the Jeep. Bring cd's for your drive back as I never installed the antenna to the head unit so no radio stations pick up The only engine modification is the K&N air intake - thats about 3 or 4 years old Also changed the coolant sensors but the VIC states "Coolant Sensor Bad" once in a while (known Jeep problem) Headlights are newer, maybe about 2 or 3 years old - updated bulbs with true HID Bulbs. I have matching true HID Bulbs for the fog lights that I have not installed but come with the jeep. Has Flowmaster series 40 muffler - sounds mean Also changed the fuel pump a couple of years ago. If you would like to take a look at the vehicle please contact me. Jeep isnt being driven at the moment so miles should stay the same as listed.
