Vehicle Detail

When's the last time you've seen one of these come up for sale? Very nice 1941 BMW R12 WWII military with sidecar.  It has matching numbers on the engine and frame, #88568. It has three original leather courier's bags with the quick-release setup.  Very cool and rare, indeed.  As you can see, the leather bags are gouged and torn in places and one of them is in somewhat rough shape.  However, they are from WWII, and almost impossible to come by, so I've left them alone.  I purchased the rig a couple of years ago from a well-known BMW dealer/collector in Georgia.  The previous owner had gone through and tuned up the bike and also rebuilt the magneto.  The bike starts easily and runs well,  except I'd say that it probably could use new set of plugs.  I have only taken the rig out about 3-4 times, and the rest of the time it's been on display.  Everything works, e.g., brakes, clutch, transmission.  However, because it hasn't been run much recently it probably could use the usual oil change, tune up and some adjustment to cables and linkages. Given the bike's age, I cannot put any sort of warranty on it, and it's sold as is. The desert sand paint is in generally good condition, but of course it is a dull military color and not intended to be a bright, shiny paint job. There are chips and nicks on the paint; I'm sure that the paint job is quite old. The sidecar tub has a few dents in it, and the heads on the engine are a bit pitted and chipped.  However, this is really a sturdy rig and appears to have mostly--or perhaps nearly all -- original parts.  Since Georgia does not issue titles for older bikes like this, I never received a title and I have not registered the bike, either, so it comes with a BILL OF SALE ONLY.  Ebay doesn't have a choice for bill of sale, and so the 'rebuilt title' option is not correct.   Please make sure you understand this issue when bidding. I'm also happy to answer any questions, with the caveat that I'm not an old BMW expert, but rather just an enthusiast who is trying to give as honest as a description as I can. I'm selling the bike because I really just don't have a lot of use for a sidecar rig anymore.  Thanks for looking.
