AUTHENTIC SALEEN S281 SUPERCHARGED SPEEDSTER #587 This beautiful and rare Mustang Machine is a Convertible with a 5spd manual transmission, upgraded clutch, leather seats, Saleen light bar, and top factory stereo: The Mach 1000 stereo with 6 disc CD changer and 2 independently amplified subs in the trunk. The seats are leather, the Saleen gauge pod was installed in the center of the dash to display the supercharger's boost and inter-cooler temperature. VERY fun convertible to drive, engine accelerates quickly and the full G-force simply kept scaring my passengers so I stopped upgrading the power because I just drive the car around, I don't race it. The Saleen Speedometer reads all the way up to 200 mph(see photo), Saleen upgraded the Fuel Injectors to 30 lbs per hour. Saleen-tuned suspension turns like a roller coaster, the car sits low but rides comfortably soft. Engine has less than 58K miles and runs very smooth. Last year the supercharger pulley was professionally replaced to increase the boost from 6 to 9 lbs, the oil was changed, seals replaced, belt was resized and replaced, then professionally dyno tuned ($2600 upgrade). There's no belt whine sounds after I changed the belt and people love the futuristic sound of the supercharger spinning around 15,000 RPM's. FYI The Supercharger only kicks in when you ask it to by giving it extra throttle. A True Cold Air Intake and K&N Filter are currently installed. The entire exhaust system is upgraded beyond factory Ford Mustang GT components. This engine flows! It still passes emissions legally and the exhaust is just slightly louder than stock, not harsh or raspy at all. The Saleen sounds balanced, smooth, and deep. When you start the car the idle is powerful and smooth. Shorty headers and mid-pipe w/cats were added for more power and fuel economy. Saleen upgraded the cat-back portion of the exhaust. Adding a bigger throttle body would definitely yield significantly more power, so would pulleys. And of course a 50hp shot of nitrous would be most excellent too.
