Vehicle Detail
Selling with NO RESERVE my 1979 true Euro non-sunroof coupe with single outside mirror, roll up windows and manual seats, sold with Bill of Sale only. VIN# is 9119300646, imported by Donald York and date of manufacturing was 1/79 according to the plate in the door jamb. Last registered in North Carolina, where I bought it from to make a track car out of it. Sits right with a nice low, aggressive stance. Started its life as a rare light bright green color (code plate fell off when they repainted it so I don't know the code...see pic...almost like the Viper green from the early seventies) over black interior. It was later repainted a very dark purple metallic (looks almost black) and was a decent windows out job when it was done back in the day (now needs repainted as it's faded and cracking in a few spots). Very nice solid platform with VERY solid floors, pan, torsion areas, etc (the fuel pump cover is hanging down in the pics so I can run the gas bottle to it). There is the typical small rust spot about 2-3" in diameter at the bottom corner of the inside door jamb on the drivers side (the area you see in the pic is about the entire spot...I took the rubber trim off to check and I simply set it back for the photo but there is no other holes under the rubber piece beyond another 1/2" from what you see). The passenger side is solid with no visible rust. The front pan, longitudinals, floors, etc are in super condition and rust free. Appears to never have been hit. Great gaps, doors have that PORSCHE "ping" when closed! Runs, drives and stops. Has a brand new fuel pump. Has real RECARO seats. NOTE: I also have an era-correct factory Porsche original set of manual Sport Seats that I will include in this sale IF bidding goes over $15,000. If winning bid is below that amount, they can be purchased separately by winning bidder if desired at a fair negotiated price. They are in great physical shape, very supportive and comfortable, but need to be recovered. Similar seats are selling upwards of $3,000 when restored/recovered. Again, it is a non-sunroof car (great for track). Headliner is actually decent but has a few small holes in it. Dash has common cracks. As you all know these cars have skyrocketed in value. This car can easily be restored or drive as is with a few odds and ends addressed. Perfect for a track car! Car will be sold with a Bill of Sale only. It was last registered in North Carolina by the previous owner. My original plans were to make a lightweight track car. My wife and I are buying a new river house and I'm liquidating about 10 of my cars (4 of my other 911's will be on the Market soon) quickly to pay for it. Again, the car will be sold with a Bill of Sale only. Always a Southern car, no rust other than what I mentioned above in the door jamb (and some light surface rust where paint has cracked but NO rust through). Fuchs are nice, tires will need replaced due to age. Actual mileage is unknown as it was a Euro car imported and the speedometer was swapped out to a US version. Comes with original owners manual in German (book has some pages stuck together), jack, tool kit, first aid kit, space saver spare (tire is trash), and some other bits and pieces. What it needs that I'm aware of: 1) Drivers door glass needs replaced 2) Gas tank needs cleaned/sealed or replaced (currently runs off a bottle off the fuel pump just to move it around). Runs okay (I'm sure you'll want to at least a general tune up) and shifts fine. 3) Paint and interior per desired level of restoration or strip down for track car 4) New battery Overall it's an exceptionally nice start to building a gorgeous rare true Euro 911 or a killer track car. It's not hideous by any stretch and you could enjoy it as it sits with a little tinkering before tackling a restoration. These pics give a good representation of the car. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. I will gladly work with oversees buyers. I am only 3 hours to Charleston, SC where there is a Port. Again, car will be sold with Bill of Sale only. Winning bidder MUST pay a $500 deposit immediately through Paypal and the final balance is due within 5 business days. No exceptions. Message me with questions or to make an offer. Car is for sale locally so auction may end at any time. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
