Vehicle Detail
I am the second owner of this Suburban, which spent most of it's life in the Los Angeles area before I bought it from friends. When I got it the odometer was showing 43,449 miles on it, which is more like 143,449. The original owners used it only for two cross country trips a year and weekend ski trips up the state, otherwise it sat along side their house the rest of the time. When I bought it, it had been sitting idle a long time and I proceeded to overhaul the mechanical aspects of the truck. The Suburban has no less than $8K in new or remanufactured parts on it and has been a ongoing restoration project as time permitted, however health issues have killed any ability I have to keep going with it. The truck runs, drives and passes emissions just fine and only needs the minor bits and pieces to finish up what I never got to. Currently the odometer reads X77,622 (177,622) Below is a short list of what is new or remanufactured and what year it was done and how many miles are on the new parts if known off hand. I will be totally honest and say that the pictures make it look nicer than it is,The camera hides the minor chips and flaws and from ten feet away it looks great, up close it shows those chips and small marks that you'd expect on a 25yr old truck. With that said, overall it is in great shape for it's age. The interrior is completely original. The carpet is in great shape, there are no rips or tears in the seats or door panels. (rear door panels have some scuffs on the plastic). The headliner is in good shape, however I noticed an area in front of the rear AC unit where it's starting to sag a little. All the power windows, door locks, lights and dash gauges work as they should. Heater works fine, AC works but needs compressor. The dash has two cracks in it (shown in pictures) but is otherwise is great shape. The windshield does have two chips and one crack (shown in pictures). The paint overall is in good shape, not peeling (repainted in 2001 by previous owner) but it's lost some of it's luster over the years. The body is straight other than a few small door dings, there are no major dents and no rust. As far as I know it's never been in an accident with the original owner and I've never had an accident with it. The tires are about two years old and have 90% of their tread left on them. Again, it runs and drives good...tho to be honest it's a bear when its under 40F outside...it takes its sweet time warming up, after that it's fine. Since it's been in storage a year I had it taken in and the transmission serviced and filled, along with oil change and coolant. I took it on a 150 mile jaunt through the mountains one last time to make sure everything still works good on it and there were no problems. I'm sure this would be a great truck that would take very little additional effort to refine and complete, or this can be one hell of a parts donor for your current rig. I do have most of the paper work showing the services done or parts purchased that you can look at if you wish. The truck is currently registered in NV as a classic vehicle and has a clear title. The truck was appraised at $5300 by Hagarty Classic Vehicle insurance and is insured with them with an agreed value policy of $5300. I welcome onsite inspections of the vehicle by licensed companies and individuals. Licensed and insured companies may road test the vehicle for you, due to my insurance restrictions I cannot allow private individuals to road test the vehicle. I also have the original air cleaner and air intake hose in case you need those to pass emissions in your state.
