For sale is a 1998 Ford E-350 Econoline, with 6.8L V10 EFI engine. The van was professionally modified for a television station as a News vehicle. The Television Engineering Corporation designed and constructed the broadcast portion of the van to include 3 equipment racks in the cabin area with power distribution panel, Mast control, air conditioning functions and more. Also housed in the van are the air compressor utilized for the mast; DC to AC inverters to provide AC power inside the van. The racks have been stripped of any equipment before we got it. All that remains (and is fully functioning) is the power distribution panel. The mast has been stowed for a while, but we tested it and it works fine. It is a little stiff; probably needing lubrication. It goes up with a little jerking at first but otherwise is smooth. It retracts when you press the MAST-DOWN switch with no hesitation or binding. Will-Burt or another similar vendor could probably service this and make it good as new. On the mast are 2 Quick-Set pan-tilt heads. One for the microwave antenna, and one for a POV camera (neither the antenna or POV camera are included in sale). The wiring has been tampered with so no further testing was conducted on them. They will need some tracing and repairs. The air compressor runs fine (on demand) but may need some lubricating or cleaning. Likewise, the Cummins/Onan 7kw gasoline generator runs but will require a tune-up. There is also a fuel leak somewhere near the generator which will need further troubleshooting and repairs. It only leaks when the generator is running so it may be at the fuel pump for the generator. Besides the driver and passenger doors, there are a pair of dual doors on the curb side and another pair of dual doors on the rear. The rear also has a ladder which provides access to the rooftop where a full grated deck is provided for camera set up or more microwave gear. There are 3 flood lights on the edge of the deck. One street-side, one curb-side and one rear facing. A fourth flood light is mounted at the top of the mast. All are controllable by the operator inside the cabin. A cabin air conditioner system including thermostat (in addition to the truck engine A/C) has been checked out and is functional. The curb-side sports an I/O panel for all audio and video connections to the van, as well as a shore power connector and pig-tail. The van is powered by 110 volt AC shore power as well as the on-board generator (switchable by operator). There are two scrapes on the curb-side body, near the I/O panel. One appears minor; the other is a little deeper (to the metal) and shows some signs of rust. It can be repaired. The rest of the van body appears to be in very fine shape. The van was "wrapped" for the TV News Station. They partially removed the wrapper but some still remains. The Buyer can peel the remaining vinyl off. Tires and brakes are in good condition. Picture of ODOMETER shows actual mileage. The ODOMETER is on its 3rd time around. The van was purchased by us and driven by us from the TV station to our warehouse near Seatac airport in Seattle.
