Up for grabs is this very rare, survivor 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1! Here is a great opportunity for someone who's actually interested in driving a collector quality "muscle car." This car underwent a fully documented restoration, and it is rust-free, all original paneled body (sans the hood), taken to metal before using the HIGHEST quality materials for re-paint. The original 351 2V Cleveland was rebuilt, as were the FMX transmission and rear end. The interior was freshened up, with a few NOS parts but is all correct and mostly original. As with any used vehicle, there are small imperfections here and there but this car is a stunning "numbers matching" Mach 1 that can be driven daily as-is. The car came with A/C, and original compressor comes with the car. The car is VERY tight, responsive to any input given and will make you smile when you put the hammer down every time. The doors shut tight and there are no rattles/squeaks or any other strange sounds. This car was purchased new in Florida but has been in Atlanta area since 1975 (so rust-free and no snow or salt!). This configuration Mach 1 is widely regarded as the best "driver" of the bunch and this example is no exception. It steers/stops/brakes and starts and idles just as it should (the carb is brand new), and will certainly make an informed new owner very happy. The included Marti Report will take care of any doubts that this car is correct, and VERY nice. The Ram Air hood is Ford, but the car did not come with this option. Also, the chrome front bumper only came on 351 Boss in 1971 but I felt this was a tasteful alternative to the original plastic/urethane which is no longer produced. Money Magazine recently named this car # 1 of 10 "James Bond cars you can afford" (this model was featured in "Diamonds Are Forever"), and this car has TREMENDOUS potential as an investment! Compression test completed on 2/3/14 shows all cylinders to be at 180 psi or above; I also just gave this Mach 1 a complete tune-up and installed a new fuel filter...this Mach 1 is ready to run!
