Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1979 true Euro non-sunroof coupe with single outside mirror, roll up windows and manual seats. VIN# is 9119300646, imported by Donald York and date of manufacturing was 1/79 according to the plate in the door jamb. Sits right with a nice low, aggressive stance. Started its life as a rare light green color over black interior. It was later repainted a very dark purple metallic (looks almost black) and was a decent windows out job when it was done (now needs repainted as it's faded and cracking in a few spots). Very nice solid platform with VERY solid floors, pan, torsion areas, etc (the fuel pump cover is hanging down in the pics so can run the gas bottle to it). There is the typical small rot about 2-3" in diameter at the bottom corner of the inside door jamb on the drivers side (the area you see in the pic is about the entire spot...the rubber trim was off and I simply set it back for the photo but there is no other holes under the rubber piece beyond another 1/2" from what you see). The other side is solid. The front pan, longitudinals, floors, etc are in super condition and rust free. Appears to never have been hit. Great gaps, doors "ping" when closed! Runs, drives and stops. Has a new fuel pump. Has real RECARO seats. Again, it is a non-sunroof car (great for track). Headliner is actually decent but has a few small holes in it. Dash is cracked. As you all know these cars have skyrocketed in value. This car can easily be restored or drive as is with a few odds and ends addressed. I do NOT have a title for this car, however I have been told it's fairly easy to do so either thru a bonded title (about $200) or there are several companies online that can handle it for you for around $300 I'm told. Some states just require a Bill of Sale due to it's age. I'm just not going to fool with it. My wife and I are trying to buy a new river house and I'm liquidating about 10 of my cars (4 of my other 911's will be on the Market soon) quickly to pay for it. Car will be sold with a Bill of Sale only. Always a Southern car, no rust other than what I mentioned above in the door jamb (and some light surface rust where paint has cracked but NO rust through). Fuchs are nice, tires will need replacing soon due to age. Mileage is unknown as it was a Euro car imported and the speedometer was swapped out to a US model. It reads 180k but I have no idea what true miles are. Comes with original owners manual in German (though book has some damage), jack, tool kit, first aid kit, space saver spare (tire is trash), and some other bits and pieces. What it needs that I'm aware of: 1) Drivers door glass is missing 2) Gas tank needs cleaned/sealed or replaced (currently runs off a bottle off the fuel pump just to move around). Runs okay (will need gone through though) and shifts fine, but I have not been through all gears. 3) Paint and interior per desired level of restoration 4) New battery Overall it's an exceptionally nice start to building a gorgeous rare car. It's not hideous by any stretch and you could enjoy it as it sits for a while before tackling a restoration. These pics give a good representation of the car. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. I will gladly work with oversees buyers. I am only 3 hours to Charleston, SC where there is a Port. Winning bidder MUST pay a $500 deposit immediately through Paypal and the final balance is due within 5 business days. No exceptions. Message me with questions or to make an offer. Thanks. On Feb-24-14 at 03:56:08 PST, seller added the following information: I apologize...I usually sell cars from my collection at no reserve...out of habit I typed that in the title, but decided to place a reserve on this particular car. Sorry for any confusion this has caused. The system will not let me edit that in the title.
