Up for auction is this SOLID SOLID SOLID 1970 Dodge Charger project car. It was a base model 318 car from the factory, although it does have some options like A/C, power steering and power drum brakes. The gentleman that I got it from had owned the car since 1988. The car has not been on the road since the mid 80's. The body is unbelievable on this car compared to most project cars. The frame is perfect, the floors are perfect, even the trunk just has heavy surface rust but no holes. The back window area which is normally horrible on these cars barely has any rust at all. The driver's side fender was missing when the previous owner purchased the car in '88. the red rust free fender was bought for the car but never painted. it has one dent at the front but no rust. Most of a grill is laying inside the car. The taillight panel and rear lower valance that are prone to disappear due to rust on 68-70 chargers is in amazing shape on this car. The only negatives i can tell you about this car are: the driver's side quarter has some rust, mainly around the wheel lips and down low. It could be patched, or replace 1/4. The passenger side quarter is not rusty at all but has a lot of bondo from a previous dent that was repaired crappy. Sheetmetal wise this car really only needs 1/4's. The decklid does have 4 holes on it from a previous "go wing" back in the day. Interior is all there, obviously needs redone. Key does work column, but the column piece is broken right by the wheel. All gauges are there, fender tag is there. all numbers on rad support, fender tag, title door tag etc all match. No funny business with this car. I do have a 318/904 from another car that I would be willing to let go with the car for a little extra $$ if a buyer needs a drivetrain for the car. Engine is a running motor and trans shifted the car fine when pulled out 6 months ago. It is not original to this car,just one I had from another project. You will not find a more solid project car on ebay. These care are getting very hard to find in this shape. They are either done cars with asking prices of $30-50k, or $5000 rot boxes than might break in half when you load it on your trailer. You will be happy with the body on this car.
