Vehicle Detail
1973 Javelin by American Motors Corporation (AMC), with AMC's 360 CID (5.9 L) V8 engine and 4-speed transmission. Body is straight and paint in good shape for a 40 year old car. - The car has been stored in garage since 2004 covered, except for 6 month in which it was stored out side covered. -- Car was driven regularly before being stored - Car has less than 30 miles driven in the last 10 years. - Some minor scratches in paint, with some rust spots.. - Needs new clutch -- New clutch (part) is included in sale but requires installation. - Car runs but leaks from rear seal, which is why car needs the new clutch. - Mileage is NOT correct, but is odometer reading. - Have lots of pictures, which I can provide on request. Also included sale are four Javelin hubcaps, which i believe are original. On Jan-07-14 at 05:22:27 PST, seller added the following information: Questions from buyers with responses: Where is the Car is located (Santa Maria CA 93455) - What is the condition of the undercarriage (the undercarriage looks surprisingly clean for a forty year old car - have added some photos of undercarriage). - When was the last started and driven (the car was started and driven on the 31st) - Door tag specifications was this car tan (E5 - Pewter Silver)On Jan-07-14 at 05:26:26 PST, seller added the following information: Sorry can't figure out how to change photo's using my MacBook, if requested can send photo's On Jan-11-14 at 06:18:40 PST, seller added the following information: Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE I'm concerned about selling a car to someone sight unseen. I want whoever gets this car to be happy and take care of it, because there are only a few remaining. I can only tell you what I know about the car. My son bought it in 2004 and drove it for about 3 months before parking it my garage before going off to school. Car started and drove well at the time of parking in garage. The car did leak oil from the rear engine seal and still does, which is why the clutch needs replacing. Since 2004 the car has been driven less than 30 miles and started about as many times. I was only storing it while my son was in school, than 4 years in the army. I bought from him recently and now would like to sell it. Here is my assessment of the car: Cons Hasn't been started and driven vary much in the last 10 years Has minor rust spots Leaks oil from engine rear sealNeeds new clutchDriving gages don’t register correct reading (examples oil pressure reads pressure without engine running, temp never registers what would think a valid reading)Paint has some scratches (not big just not perfect) ProsBody straightPaint looks goodAll the part thereCar looks to be original (my option)Except Car seats, but I'm not sure if their originalTires and rimsDifferent paint (original E5 - Pewter Silver)Undercarriage looks cleanInterior looks good Car starts and runs, except for clutch slippingIt cleaned up nice It’s important the person-buying this car understand what their purchasing and be satisfied.
