Vehicle Detail
This is a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda that I've owned for 7 1/2 years. It's originally from Florida. Since the time that I've owned it I've put about 1,800 miles on it. It has a transplanted 340/727 that the prior owner had installed but was also told this car was originally a 318 car. I don't believe the engine has ever been rebuilt it's and is all stock. The engine runs very well but in my opinion a rebuild should be done due to age. I can hear a ticking noise I believe to be in the valve train but it does not affect the running condition. I do not know the mileage on the engine but I do know the engine and trans are out of a 1970 Duster according to the prior owner. This would be the good high performance 340 with steel crank, full floating forged pistons, 2.02 valves and 10:1 compression. It has the good exhaust manifolds and an Edelbrock carb, accel coil and wires, chrome valve covers and chrome air cleaner. The trans shifts very well. I had changed the fluid and filter and added a trans cooler. Very good core driveline for a restoration on this car. Comes with a title and I will include a bill of sale. Since I've owned the car I've installed new tires, new dual exhaust with Dynomax mufflers, radiator, a Proform electronic ignition, ignition wires, new hard brake lines, fuel tank and I've had the steering box rebuilt. The car starts up and drives well but should be totally restored however it could be driven as is. This would be a perfect restoration project for someone. The body is pretty good overall. It does need new quarter panels and a new set at a cost of over $500.00 is included with the car (see pic). The car also needs a new tail pan (not included). The underside of the car including floor, rockers, frame rails, trunk pan and inner rockers are pretty good with the exception of a small 6" diameter hole I found near the LH toe board. Has good original bumpers. The interior is mostly complete and the upholstery on the seats is nice. It needs a headliner, carpet and a dash pad. The heater control and the LH fresh air vent are missing, the radio, rear arm rests, speaker, cigarette lighter, seat belts and wiper switch, spare, jack are also missing. It has a nice original restored automatic console and has a remote mirror. The fold down partition into the trunk is a replacement. The door panels are very usable but need some repair. It has the standard duty rear axle, power steering and factory rally wheels complete with rings and caps. Has good tinted glass. My shop performs restorations (Hyde Specialty Auto Body and Restoration-check out our web site) and we can offer the winning bidder the installation of the included quarter panels at a discounted labor rate and can offer anything else they want done to the vehicle prior to pickup. If the winning bidder elects to have work performed then the vehicle would be available for pickup at our shop in Auburn Hills 48326 otherwise pickup would have to be made at my home in Otter Lake 48464 which is where the vehicle is presently located.
