Vehicle Detail

You're viewing my custom 1971 Corvette 454 big block convertible with big block 454 hood (hood not completely closed in some of the pictures), factory hardtop (no soft top) and side pipes. The car is a beast with it's 454ci engine! This is a non matching numbers car. It started it's life as a small block coupe and was professionally converted to a big block hardtop convertible, which is easily removed for a stock roadster look. Mileage shows 73,408 and I was told that it hasn't rolled over but I cannot confirm. The car was professionally painted a beautiful dark green a few years back, and overall still looks great. The previous owner had built the car over 20 years ago and slowly restored it over the years, then had kids and parked it in a special temperature controlled room built just for the car. The underside had been block sanded and painted and still presents very well. Most everything under the car was restored and/or replaced. There is no rust on this car. The fiberglass work on the rear deck where the conversion was made and on the drivers side rear quarter is slightly noticeable in just the right light/angle and will eventually need addressed (not horrible at all, just making you aware it's not "show car perfect" but overall the car really does look pretty nice. The corners of the car where the bumpers attach have some cracking/damage that was caused by light bumping of the car during transport a while back. It has not spread any, and isn't a huge deal. The rear bumpers are quite nice. The front bumper is slightly bent as can be seen in the photo. It might be able to be straightened back out? Overall the paint is quite nice and shiny/smooth, but again there are a few minor defects here and there. There is some light scuffing on the hardtop (should mostly buff out) and light stress cracks on the rear deck. One could enjoy the car as it is and with a few weekends worth of work, get it road worthy again. The engine is a non original 454 big block. Belts are off in the pictures because the alternator was starting to squeal so my mechanic took them off. The transmission is an automatic. The car starts, runs and drives on its own power. Will probably need a new battery as lately I've had to jump start it to get it going. The starter sometimes doesn't want to engage from sitting, possibly a flat spot on the flywheel. The brakes need bled/maybe rebuilt before you can drive it safely. The door glass is out of the car and it needs either cut or replaced with glass for a convertible (different angle), but both originals are included. Not a huge deal. The interior is in usable condition, but to be perfect you would want to replace the seat covers as they are original and dry/cracking in places. The door panels and dash have a few cracks in them but are certainly presentable for a driver. The steering wheel is original and the cover that's in the pics has been removed. The steering knuckle in the column needs tightened. The original radio/amp will come with the car. I also have the owners manual. Tires are Firestone Red-Lines, and though they look fine and have decent tread, they are older and you might want to replace them if you're doing any serious driving. Cruising around town on a Friday night down to the burger joint and you're probably just fine. The wiper motors are no longer there, as the car was never driven in the rain and the headlights need hooked up to operate up and down (will open manually). This is a great looking car that with just a little bit of work can be back on the streets in no time. There is no rear spare nor hanger anymore. Basically, you've got a cool ride with a killer engine that needs a little attention to put her back on the road. The engine is strong and sounds amazing through the side pipes! This is a minor project. It's a beautiful car that needs a few minor things to make perfect again. I am selling this at no reserve, so the last bid wins! Bid high and bid often! This car cannot be safely driven due to the brakes and must be taken away on a trailer. Bleed the brakes and a few other little repairs and be cruising soon. I am a private collector thinning down my collection of 15 exotic and muscle cars. All sales are final, no warranties are expressed or implied. Winning bidder must pay a $500 deposit through Paypal immediately following the auction's end, and full payment is due within 3 business days. If you cannot do this, PLEASE do not bid. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
