Vehicle Detail

1991 Honda Crx HF358,870 miles35-40mpg5 speed w/ACCalifornia car that has never seen snow. I am moving to Japan in January and this has to go unfortunately. It's also the reason you see a lot of my rare parts up for sale. 11-14-2013 I uploaded 2 new videos to YouTube (they are added below), I have updated some of the listing below they are marked in blue, I have uploaded new pictures of the door panels below the description.11-14-2013 I uploaded a picture of the spark plugs. If you look at the spark plug wiring you can see there is no oil on it! Very reliable, drives straight, very clean car, a ton of new parts, very rare accessories installed, a ton of extra parts if the buyer is interested (for free), A/C blows cold (has never been recharged in my possession), heat blows nice and warm, everything works, needs some cosmetic attention but overall it's right on the edge of being a perfect Crx! Installed: Interior:USDM 2-Din Slot w/Accord Radio and Crx EqualizerJDM Climate Control (numbers are different)JDM “Nonsmoking” Personal Box w/original liner (not a fake felt one)New OEM shift knobJDM Honda Access Leather Steering WheelEDM LHD Power Window Switches w/rare “Honda” crank coversUSDM Floor mats in good/great conditionCrx specific Armrest (not cracked, w/original Felt), cushion padding is wornJDM rear Cloth seats w/rear carpet (cloth ones are very hard to find)JDM rear cargo cover (different than USDM)JDM glass top maplight and sunvisorsJDM “Cr-x” Seats in pristine condition.EDM “Pieces” coin box w/original felt liningJDM Crx Bass TubesJDM VERY RARE Super Sound Speaker covers (I couldn't get the retaining clips to fit on the back, but will include them with the sale. They appear to stay in place fine though)New OEM rubber pedal coversAs of now missing inner mirror cover, but I believe I saw it hiding somewherePassenger window is slow to roll up and down. The motors are Crx specific I bought a replacement motor from Europe but I have not installed it yet (will be included). The door wiring should be re-done. I had brought it to Mach1 and they didn't do a good job. I fixed their work somewhat. I have door harnesses from a Civic sedan that will fix the issue that I will include (2 sets). Everything works fine, just the wiring looks a bit ugly at the door and hardly worth mentioning. Everything has a fuse inline so no safety issues if left untouched. The interior has been converted from blue interior to black interior. I had slightly been building the Crx from the inside out. Interior is in really good shape for its age. Exterior:Original paint besides the front endRear quarter panels do not show any signs of rust, fantastic condition.Under is in fantastic condition as well. Some of the rubber lining has peeled off from wear/tear but no rust has taken its place!JDM Fenders w/sidemarkers, wired up correctly (real JDM fenders are stamped for the side markers)USDM front complete mask/bra (It can align better, I just didn't want to force it in the cold)JDM Full rear tail light setup in good/great condition.Rear center light is a combination of an EDM rear fog light installed in JDM center garnish (I never heard of anyone else doing this)USDM optional arch protectors (fronts are not installed but they are waiting in the trunk)Full mud flap set (these were from a low mileage JDM car, so good condition)USDM Very RARE OEM Louvre (in ok condition, but could be reconditioned properly)Driver side door has new OEM hinges (no sagging)New Crx Si exhaust muffler with OEM tipsWill come with CRX license platesThis car has been in 2 accidents that I am aware of it. First accident someone was stopped entrance ramp and caused people to swerve around. I was hit in the front two corners. As bad as it sounds it wasn't that bad, the front aligns properly. The second accident someone reversed into my front bumper. The front right is pushed in from the side about 1/8 of an inch. Very little. As you can see everything lines up nearly perfect. If you really want to be finicky (which I am) you can have it pulled at a body shop for relatively cheap. Before the accident the front end was completely original. I had big plans for this car next year that included fixing every little part on this and installing a glass top. Suspension:3/4 OEM HF wheels, unfortunately 1 wheel is a regular DX (HF’s are HF specific)Tires have less than roughly 15,000 miles on themSprings from a Crx Si, with Tokico Illumina struts (they are making some noise, I will include some brand new Tokico Blues for the rears)Rear struts have been converted to 88 lower control arms (identical to Integra Type R's)New inner/outer tie rodsNew upper/lower ball jointsNew front calipersNew front brake padsNew front brake rotorsNew OEM rack and pinion retaining clip (common issue, not fun to replace)New inner tie rod boot (passenger side)Rack and Pinion was recently adjustedE-brake works but should be adjustedNew brake master cylinderI had the driver side front strut go bad so I purchased some Tokico Illuminas for a fair price. They were just installed last week. I currently have the settings set to 3 but they are a bit loud. When I’m on really uneven surface it sounds like bad struts, but when I am on regular roads it sounds fine. I will include rear Tokico blue struts new in the original boxes for free.Besides that the car drives great. Engine:Original HF (D15B6) engine (I just did the compression test and it was 180psi across!! Perfect numbers)New OEM head gasket (has leakage at the mating surface though)New OEM timing beltNew Aftermarket tensionerNew OEM water pumpNew OEM thermostatNew OEM oil pan gasketMFactory magnetic oil plugMFactory magnetic transmission plugNew Aftermarket Intake/Exhaust manifold gasketsNew OEM valve sealsValves lappedValve cover powder-coated original black wrinkle (powder coating is better than VHT wrinkle spray and even better than the original OEM black paint, looks great)New Aftermarket Oxygen sensorNew OEM spark plugsNew OEM spark plug wiresNew OEM distributor capNew OEM distributor rotorNew OEM Input shaft bearing (tranny)New OEM counter shaft bearing (tranny)New OEM tranny magnetTranny recently sealed with HondaBondNew Aftermarket axlesNew OEM battery tie down w/new bolts_nutsNew Aftermarket alternatorNew Aftermarket radiatorNew Aftermarket radiator upper and lower hosesNew OEM Heater core hosesNew Battery (I just installed this)New aftermarket starterThe motor is strong for it's age. I have driven on a 5,000 mile road trip, 10+ times to Texas and back to Minnesota, a few times to Chicago, and even up north to Canada. I would drive this car anywhere in a heartbeat. A mechanic recently drove it and even commented on how great it drives.I had tried to keep the engine original as possible, but it’s starting to show its age. I really believe the cylinder block needs to be evened to stop the smoke and oil leakage. I had the cylinder head fixed up nicely but it still has a small burning of fluids and leaking of fluids. I can include a spare d15b6 and/or d15z1 (vx) at no additional cost, but both are disassembled. I had planned to swap in the d15z1 next summer. On occasion it will have the idle problem that commonly plagues these vehicles. Not installed, but will include all or whatever parts buyer would like please let me know after winning the auction: Exterior:USDM New OEM side moldings (all 6, 3 for each side)USDM 1 new driver side b-pillar trimNew rear quarter window moldingUSDM 2 front arch protectors (used)JDM 2 new OEM side markers (in original packaging)New Rear mud flapsUSDM new front lip w/new OEM hardware (sold separately from lip)New roof channel moldingReplacement front bumper (used but good condition) (BIG part, it may be impossible to fit another person in the car with this in it)LHD wiper spoiler (crx specific)Suspension:Optional USDM HF wheels, VERY rare but these currently have ice racing tires on them and are painted a bronze color.Engine:If buyer is interested I have a disassembled d15b6 engine, and/or a disassembled d15z1 engine (Civic Vx). Overall:This has been my pride and joy for the past 5.5 years. I have slowly been building it. Next summer I had planned to have it painted (original white) and install a glass top. It is very difficult for me to list this up for sale. I had tried every which way to keep this car but it doesn't make sense for it to sit for years in hopes of working on it again. I feel this car is right on the edge of being great with a bit of work (all of which is basically included). The add-ons, accessories, and extras are worth more than my asking price. **I'm not positive if my Veteran plates can go with the car. Otherwise I may ask the seller to send them back to me** Click below for a video walk around of the car (detailed/long video) CLICK HERE for a walk aroundClick below for a couple of the extra parts included as well as smoke coming from the exhaust. CLICK HERE for exhaust smoke and extra partsClick the link below for a video of 1st gear through 5th gear. For some reason the car sounds loud in the video but it's not that loud. CLICK HERE for 1st through 5th gear drivingClick below for a video of the off idle. CLICK HERE for idle problem After winning the auction:Has to be picked up in person. I can pick buyer up from the MSP airport, Minneapolis train station, or a Minneapolis bus (Greyhound/Mega Bus) station. If buyer is located within 8 hours from me I could deliver/meet for a fee ($50 first hour, and $25 every hour after) plus fuel cost of the Crx and my wife's car (for there and back). Full payment+estimated fuel cost/fee needs to be made for anything over an hour prior to delivery.Buyer is expected to make a non-refundable deposit of $100 using Paypal. This is just to let me know you are serious about picking it up.I can hold the car for 1 week extra. If I need to hold it past a week then I will require full payment otherwise it will be re-listed.
