Vehicle Detail
R69S BMW R-series Motorcycle 600cc Twin Here is your opportunity to purchase my pride and joy - my mid-sixties R69S. Take a look at the pictures. This motorcycle looks and runs good. This motorcycle is being SOLD WITH BILL OF SALE ONLY NO TITLE. This R69S has a Euro-speedometer and reads an impressive 200 kilometers per hour, registering 54,160 kms. (33,633 miles), which I believe is an accurate indication of mileage. The numbers all match. The VIN is #660070. They only made these for a few years and they are getting hard to come by. Based on this VIN number, this bike is smack dab in the middle of the manufacturing run of only 11,316 world-wide. We always believed this was a 1961 BMW, but the numbers indicate a later model so we've estimated to 1964; they are all good years. This motorcycle starts right up and runs fine, no unusual noises or knocks. The engine does not smoke and it shifts like it should. The electric system all functions properly. It has a new battery. It has Hella bar-end signals. It has a large sports tank. It also has the wide touring Schoisch-Meier seat. It has the frame-mounted BMW tire pump. No tool box, no manuals. Over-all condition: I believe the paint is original - I have never painted it. There are a few touched-up places on the black paint. There’s some scratches and scuffs, as you’d expect. The sheet metal is all straight and rust-free. This motorcycle has steel wheels and the chrome has a few flecks of rust on the chrome. Rear tire is good. Front tire has some age cracks, and should be replaced. The exhaust is good, and the mufflers have been replaced with good BMW-style reproductions. Air tubes are good. Foot peg rubbers are good. The air filter has been painted black. The handle bars are powder-coated black and have been since before I got the machine. The gas tank is decent inside. The gas cap has a dent. The clutch works fine. The transmission shifts fine. The seat is wide and comfortable, and the stitching is good and the vinyl is still supple. The hand grips are not original, but much more comfortable. This is a fast and exciting motorcycle to drive. Quite a lot different than its /2 brothers.... This approximately 50 year old antique motorcycle has scuffs and scratches as you would expect from an unrestored classic, but overall looks very good! You won’t be disappointed with this machine..... This motorcycle is for sale locally, and I reserve the right to end the eBay sale early. Buyer is responsible for shipping/pick up. I prefer local pick up, but will work with seller on possible delivery/shipping. A non-refundable PayPal deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours.
