Vehicle Detail
inch ford Strange Up for bid is a 1968 Camaro. Pro Street / Drag what ever you choose youd be hard pressed to come close to building this car for the reserve price! Gonna start with the body. It is all steel front to back, Body is straight, no rust, rear quarters have been stretched to fit rear tires. The hood was a flat steel hood with a 8 inch cowl molded to it and hood cut out for engine clearance. The cowlscreen has been affixed to the hood and opens reverse style along with the hood. All glass is perfect. Door handles have been shaved. Door poppers are installed on drivers and passengers doors with remotes and remote button. Very nice purple pearl color (Not barney purple). As I stated the body is VERY straight and paint is awesome as well! The interior retains the factory dash and vin but as far as functionality that's about it. Seats and headliner are grey tweed with purple accents. Has simpson 5 way harnesses on drivers and passengers seats. All interior floor, door panels, tubs etc are aluminum sheet metal. The roll cage is 8 point with swing outs on both sides, All auto meter gauges, Cheeta Shifter. Ignition, fuel, cooling, lights are controlled by the switch panel. Also has a BIllet tilt steering column This car is street legal. All lights work including turn signals. Chassis and suspension speaks for itself. Chassis car that's been channeled. Stance is Killer! 31 Inches from ground to top of front fenders. 4 Link Rear, 9 Inch reinforced Strange housing with 4:88 gears and Strange axles. Has Tubular lower control arms, QA1 Adjustable coilovers all the way around. Steering is controlled by a manual rack and pinion. Stops with 4 wheel Discs and dual master cylinders. The Engine is a stock LQ9 6.0l out of a 05 Escalade that had 80000 miles. Has solid plate mounts. Fuel injection was removed and a Victor JR with 750 Double pumper was installed along with Comp Cams .624 292/300 cut on 114. Fuel is supplied from a 16 gal fuel cell, Magna Fuel 750 pump and braided lines front to rear. Ignition is controlled by a MSD 6ls currently set on default tune(Conservative ), Factory coils with aftermarket wires and delco plugs. Has not been Dynoed but should be good for 450-500 ish HP. Navigates this 2500 lb 68 Camaro pretty decent! Has Longtubes and flows (Sounds Awesome) and shifts via Powerglide transmission with a 4500 converter and manual valve body. Wheels are Billet Specialties 15 x 4 front with Kuhmo 165/80/15 tires and rears are 15x15 with S375/60/D15 tires. Tread is knee deep! Rear tires have a little weather cracking from sitting not noticeable in photos. It has Line Loc that is not currently wired up We have not had this car to the track so I cannot furnish timeslips but you can do the math, 2500lb\450-500hp\glide\and 4:88 gears. Its quick! Add a fogger and you should be in the high 5sec low 6 sec range in the 1\8 mile. The car has no wiper setup, no heat, no air conditioning but is titled and fully street legal, all lights work including turn siginals, Runs 185 degrees all day.
