1991 Porsche 911 Targa: 82k miles, Inspection done for sale 1991 Porsche 911 Targa: 82k miles, Inspection done Beautiful cosmetics inside and out this 911 Carrera 2 drives really well: motor is strong, transmission shifts great, brakes are solid! Paint, interior, Targa top, carpets are all in excellent condition and the leather and dash are un-cracked and superb as is the steering wheel. But, it is a 964 and as we all know can be prone to oil leaks and this car is no exception. I have had a very good local shop perform an mechanical inspection (PPI) please email Rob@DrivelineAC.com for PDF copy. Noted issues are AC not blowing cold, oil leaks (chain covers, lower valve covers, hose at tank, oil bridge on cylinder head) all common leak areas. Alternator charge is not strong. Power steering makes slight noise when cold, no sign of leaks but fluid slightly low. Additionally: radio code is unknown, missing recirculation button nub on AC controls, some bulbs are out, belly pan is gone (a good thing) and driver's door seal is slightly nicked plus missing trim cover on bumper block. The ninety thousand mile service is due and some slight value noise is present so valves need adjustment. Not noted by the inspection as paint it so nice, the car has had paintwork on the nose and left front fender; in my opinion the work done is of excellent quality and no structural damage is noted. The hood is original as is the fender and hood sticker with options is present. Mileage is 82400. Service history receipts back to November 1992 are with the car, one key, operators manual (missing packet and warranty manual), tool kit appears complete and spare tire and pump are present. My client purchased the car in 1995 and it was also originally sold new in the Bay Area, my clients briefly sold the car to a neighbor and then recently bought it back! Sadly his wife passed away early this year and it was her car; he does not want to keep it or put any further expense into the car. I am selling it "as-is" no mechanical or service issues noted, or not, will be addressed prior to sale. I will say in summary this is a very nice 911 Carrera 2, it just needs some TLC.
