Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1928 Ford Model A Tudor. The car was originally sold and delivered to California where it spent 20+ years. It was purchased by the nephew of the original owner and brought to Arkansas where it was restored after WWII and used a daily driver. The car has been in storage for at least 10 years due to the ill health and eventual death of the 2nd owner. I purchased the car from the widow of the 2nd owner and brought it to SW Oklahoma where it is now located. The car has a current title and tag in OK. Once getting the car home, I installed a new battery, timing gear, hoses, and belt. The car does run and drive, but seems to have debris in the tank as it will stall after a time and it is necessary to remove and re-clean the carburator. At the present time, the car will not start, but I'm confident that problem can be corrected in a short period of time...until the carb stops up again. There is no cancerous rust (some superficial) on the car and the body is relatively straight. It appears that all of the visable wood components are in good condition. The interior is in fair condition although the headliner is coming down in the back. The canvas top has, at some point, apparently been tarred to prevent leaks. The light/horn do not work, but the generator and starter function correctly. All of the glass, except the windshield is in tact. The windshield has a softball sized, semi-circle break in the bottom center but this does not affect the driver's or passenger's vision. Included with this car is an extra set (four) of mounted wheels/tires and many, many new and used parts. Most of these parts seem to be electrical (lights, ignition, and switches) although there are extra spark plugs, points, and a engine gasket set as well. I would estimate the value of the wheels/tires and other extra parts to be in the neighborhood of $2000 at eBay prices. The original manual is included as well as numerous repair/restoration manuals. I had thought that this would be an interesting project on which to work, but find that I simply have neither the time nor desire with which to pursure the finished project. The successful buyer will pay $500 within 24 hours of the auction's end via PayPal. This deposit will be non-refundable should the buyer change his/her mind for any reason on the purchase. I will neither ship, nor arrange shipping but will help with the loading of the vehicle onto a truck or trailer on a weekend. The balance of the payment will need to be made within 10 business days of the auctions end (cash is preferred). Failure to remit the full payment within 10 business days will negate the purchase and the item will be relisted, unless the buyer can make satisfactory arrangments with the seller.
