1986 Lincoln Town Car Signature Series 40k Original Miles! Original Florida Car! Many Pictures and Video! Do you remember the days where men dressed up when they left the house never without a jacket, tie and hat and women were dressed as if they were going to the queen’s ball? Probably not, and if you did remember, you probably read it in books or saw it on TV. But for those that do remember, remember the era where bigger always meant better and if you were an upper classman, there were only two automobiles to choose from to symbolize both class and style. That was Lincoln or Cadillac. These were two of the most elite luxury liners that were built by Americans to encompass everything the buyer wanted to be and symbolize all the accomplishments they had made up to the point of purchase. At one point Lincoln surpassed Cadillac in both style and price making it one of the, if not the most expensive luxury car in the American market. But as time went on and our foreign exchange clouded the American Auto Industry, Lincoln has always stood out as an elite luxury car, built for stature and built to last. With legendary craftsmanship and just pure girth in size, Lincoln’s brand recognition was second to none. And to this day if you see one of these war horses gliding down the road, you have to stop and stare as this large ghost of what times use to be like back in the day, floats by you. This 1986 Lincoln Town Car encompasses everything Lincoln stood for in the 40’s-70’s as it was paving the road for luxury car builders to follow as the future quickly became the present. As we photographed this car and had the pleasure of talking with its owner in such a beautiful setting we couldn’t help but think we were in the presence of royalty with the fountain in the background, a large early 1900’s home and this car dressing the courtyard. This particular car was originally owned by the current owner’s Aunt in Florida who had bought it off the showroom floor in 1986. As his Aunt climbed in years, the current owner had told the powers to be that were in charge of her estate that he wanted this car for his personal collection and would make the purchase price fair for all that are involved when she passed. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out that way and a middle man had come and snatched it up. After months of searching and phone calls, the current owner found the car and quickly purchased it and hauled it back to PA where it sat in a climate controlled garaged. The owner thinks it’s now time to sell as the car just sits behind closed doors. Please read on about this beautiful original 1986 Lincoln Town Car and enjoy the many pictures provided along with a video at the bottom of the listing and let us know of any questions you may have. Thank you for visiting! Exterior: As you can see from the pictures the car has been well preserved as the Florida sun was not an issue to its exterior for it has been garaged kept virtually its whole life. Does that mean it is in perfect condition? No, it has very minor scratching in the paint’s finish and some of the stainless has been scuffed. Let’s admit, this is a big car to handle even for the most skilled driver let alone a little old lady making trips to the bank and supermarket then trying to fit this car into her garage. So please do expect some blemishes here and there. The car does have a clean autocheck so please email us and we’ll send it over to you. The paint is very shiny and has plenty of depth. For the most part the paint is original aside from minor touch ups through the years. The car was well kept. All the bright work is brilliant and shines beautifully. The glass is clear and chip and haze free. All the lights, marker lights and signals work perfectly. The wheels are excellent however 3 wheels are missing their center caps. The vinyl top presents new and the sunroof works as it should and is free of any leaks. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. Interior: The interior as well presents very well and is 100% original. The leather is in excellent condition showing hardly any signs of wear. The dash is crack free as well as all the door panels. You will notice however, the glove box door shows warping and below the glove box kick panel shows fraying. The carpet is plush and the headliner is in excellent condition. All power options work as they should and the a/c blows cold as it was converted to r134a. The digital dash works as it should and all wood trim(simulated) and chrome all looks excellent. Please look at the pictures and let us know of any questions you may have. Drivetrain: The legendary 5.0 v8 power plant runs very smooth and is yet, very strong. All the fluids are clean and ready for any long or short trip. The transmission shifts on the money and seems to have been very well maintained through the years. All belts and hoses, along with any components that can wear out have all been replaced as needed and are very road worthy. The best part about these cars with this drivetrain combination is that achieves close to 25 mpg’s on the highway. Belts, hoses, brakes, tires, exhaust and suspension are all in excellent condition. Please let us know of any questions you may have. In Summation: If you’re into luxury cars, this Lincoln could be the one for you. They are very versatile as you can take them to shows and use them as daily drivers. Low mileage Town Cars are hard to find and with their reputation of being reliable, you can usually find them with well over 200k miles on them still running like new.
