Vehicle Detail

0 false 18 pt 18 pt 0 0 false false false RE-LISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BUYER. 1923 Model T Ford runabout. This car has a Ford “Pinto” engine (I believe it’s a 2300cc), automatic transmission and hydraulic brakes on the rear wheels. It’s very easy to drive. You can forget about using a hand throttle or 3 "whazzit?" pedals on the floor, or breaking your back, wrists, elbows or knees starting this car with a hand crank, because it also has an electric starter! This car has an accelerator pedal and brake pedal. Note the photos of the transmission selector and the parking brake. There are three forward speeds and reverse, neutral and Park. No transmission interlock, so it can be started in any gear. Taillight is disconnected and inop. The carb choke is operated from the left steering wheel quadrant and used for cold weather and cold starts. The right quadrant does nothing. This car can achieve totally scary, high speeds. Please, you must drive it sanely and safely. We “drive” this car…it’s not a trailer queen! We’ve used it for pleasure, parades and car shows. It was in a car show, just last week! It has given my wife and me good service for the past 4 years, but it’s time for it to move on to make room for other projects. This car is a real “head turner”! Everyone wants a ride! The ladies think it’s “cute” and the guys give “high fives” and thumbs up!! I am by no means a mechanic. I can do the easy stuff: check fluid levels, check tire pressure, minor carb adjustments, tighten bolts…the simple stuff. The carb was professionally rebuilt about a year ago and the brakes were gone through a few months back: master cylinder, brake linings and whatever else the brake shop said it needed. 12 Volt conversion. The gas tank is under the seats. The radiator has a thermostatically operated electric fan. The brass could use buffing and polishing, but I like it just the way it is. You may note some overflow from the radiator, because during the summer, the temps can easily get over 105 degrees where we live and if the radiator is filled too high, it will overflow to it’s normal level. There is a very small vertical crack, or split on the radiator neck. Since I don’t believe this is a pressurized cooling system, it never concerned me enough to have it brazed. I don’t know how old the tires are…they must be at least 6 years old and the spare is about 2 years old. Ahoohga horn, of course! Actual mileage unknown. Any questions, please ask. Check out all the photos. I have tried to take photos of the whole car including several paint chips and a small dent on the right rear fender. I have 14 years of eBay 100% positive feedback and believe in taking photos as the car looks every day. I haven’t detailed it or dressed the tires or polished the brass to make it look better than it usually does. It’s up to the new owner to decide if he or she wants to detail and fix paint chips and minor imperfections, or leave it as it has been for the last two owners. Yes, the new owner will need to do regular maintenance, tuneups and repairs as needed. The car is absolutely bargain priced at a fraction of what I paid for it and I've done additional maintenance and upgrades since I bought it. It should make someone very happy. Someone’s going to have a lot of fun with this car. Registered and titled as a 1923 Ford and comes with California YOM plates and current registration. A unique car offered at a very reasonable price. Like any antique auto, it is sold without any warranty, “as is” and “where is”. The car is located in the California foothills-gold country, in Coulterville, Zip Code 95311. U pick up or ship. Thanks for looking! Winning bidder must pay a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit by PayPal within 48 hours of the close of the auction and the balance in full by cashiers check (DRAWN ON A US BANK ONLY) within 7 days. The title will only be released after good funds clear the bank. The car must be picked up within 15 days after good funds clear the bank. I WILL SELL ONLY IN USA. NO FOREIGN BIDDERS OR BUYERS
