Vehicle Detail
You are viewing my beautiful 1991 Lotus Turbo Esprit SE. The car is a blast to drive and gets thumbs up everywhere I go. The yellow paint is in very nice condition and the black leather interior looks great as well. From what I can tell this is original paint and the car has never been in an accident. There are a few very minor chips from being a driver and not a garage queen, but nothing that takes away from the beauty she is. I was thinking about repainting the front bumper all yellow and doing away with the black bottom, but never got around to it. There is minor wear on the top bolster of the drivers seat from getting in and out, but nothing horrible and a relatively inexpensive fix if it bothers you. I was going to get around to replacing the shifter boot as well (currently is black suede and a little faded/worn). The 5 speed tranny is tight and crisp, and shifts without any grinding or weird noises. Clutch is great as well. Suspension/steering is tight and responsive. The tires are almost new on custom 18" RONAL rims (offset, rears are wider than front with wider chrome lip). These really set the car off. They are like new (in the photos the rocks in the driveway are reflecting and it looks like scratches but it is not). The sunroof comes completely out or simply pops up and stays in place for more headroom and ventilation without completely removing it. It stores in the rear hatch area when you do remove it. The Turbo engine is known as the Type 910S, with water to air chargecooler (intercooler). Horsepower was pushed up to 264 with 280 available on overboost and zero to sixty miles per hour times reduced to 4.7 seconds with a top speed of over 160 mph! A true 80's iconic supercar! The car is FAST. The car has been garaged and well cared for. I have a file with numerous maintenance receipts from over the years. All electronics/switches work as they should except I think the power mirror switch. A/C also works. I have owned 4 Turbo Esprits ('83, '85, '87, and this '91). They have all been wonderful cars but I need to thin down my collection of exotics and classic muscle cars. Sadly this one must now go to a new home. My wife wants me to get to a more manageable number of cars...had 15...now down to 11...she wants me down to 6...slowly getting there. I am a private collector, so all sales are final and no warranties are expressed or implied. Please ask all questions PRIOR to bidding, and make sure you have permission from your wife, boss, priest, whomever before you bid. My Lotus MUST be paid for within 5 business days after end of auction. If you cannot do this, PLEASE do not bid. I do not have time for games. Car is for sale locally so auction can end at any time. Feel free to make me an offer. Thanks for looking and happy bidding! This is a NO RESERVE auction, so bid high and bid often...last bid WINS this gorgeous car!!! Good luck!!!On Oct-05-13 at 08:37:53 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to clear up any confusion, I have a free and clear title in my possession (lien was paid off a while back). Car is at my Myrtle Beach (Conway) home. Lots of records. The car runs and drives awesome. On Oct-05-13 at 09:06:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Just went looking thru the file of repair receipts and there is probably close to $15-20k in maintenance receipts. The following work was done in the past few years/few thousand miles ago and is the following: New fuel evaporator lines, rebuilt gearbox, rebuilt clutch, braided lines, new plugs, new rear main seal, S4S chip for more horsepower, new fuel injectors, new water pump, cam tower, replaced all belts, clutch slave cylinder, main and side seals replaced, new brake master cylinder. All of this work was done by world renowned Lotus by Claudius in California. My mechanic locally has also done quite a bit to keep it running top notch. This is a well sorted car. Bid with confidence. On Oct-05-13 at 09:39:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the turbo was rebuilt as well. I just added up the receipts I have (not including the ones from my mechanic) and the total was $21,525! The majority of the big/expensive work was done at 66,538 miles or thereabouts (some prior, some after). Again, this has been a well maintained exotic where money was no issue. The car is good to go. On Oct-05-13 at 14:45:01 PDT, seller added the following information: The Ronal rims are not only offset, but the fronts are 17" and the rears are 18". Very aggressive stance.
