Vehicle Detail
Item Description: Up for auction is a 1980 Pontiac Firebird Rolling Chassis Project. I’ve listed everything to the best of my ability; I wish I could post more pictures. I can however respond to messages with pictures. Please feel free to ask for pictures. I’m selling the Project car because I just don’t have the time to work on it anymore. This auction would be ideal for people who want great looking parts to replace there old rusty ones, and would defiantly speed up restoration time. I’ve listed everything in sections. The sub frame is not complete. Wheel dolies are not included. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Rims: Chevy Rally Rims, i have all the caps for them. Sub frame: The sub frame is from a 1979 Trans Am. It was sandblasted and painted with POR15, Primed & Painted with High Heat Semi-Gloss Black Engine Enamel. The Mounting points are flawless with no rust pits what so ever. It has new Energy Suspension Polyurethane Body Bushings & Bolts installed. I have the bushings & Bolts for the Radiator core support and are included with the car. Control Arms: The control arms are from a 1979 Trans Am. They have been media blasted and Coated with POR15. The bushings are brand new Energy Suspension Polyurethane. The lower ball joints are Moog Replacements. The uppers are Duralast OEM Replacements. The Sway bar links are Energy Suspension & are connected to them. There are new shocks on both sides. spindles: They are original from a 79 Trans Am. They have been media Blasted and Coated with POR15. The Brake Calipers are originals panted with Black Caliper Paint. They have new pads on both sides. The rotors are still good so I used them. Coil Springs, Nuts and bolts are original parts from a 1979 Trans Am. Brake lines/Fuel Lines: The brake lines and fuel lines are from a 1981 Camaro Z28. They were power washed and flushed. All of the brake lines under the car are installed. The three way link on the rear axle has a new rubber hose installed. The fuel lines are connected up the gas tank with new fuel hose & Clamps. Fuel Tank: The Fuel Tank has been professionally cleaned & coated with POR15. A drain hole was cut while it was being cleaned and brazed close. The tank is from a 1981 Camaro z28. It has a new sending unit W/filter installed. The sending unit tube was modified to use the Camaro fuel Lines. The Wires are in place and ready to be hooked up. The fuel tank straps were media blasted and painted with POR15 The Rear axle: The axle is from a 1981 Camaro Z28. The axle is a 3.42 Posi. It was cleaned and painted with POR15. It has brand new axle bearings and seals. The Posi unit is in great shape. It has a new cover gasket. The drum brakes have brand new hardware, Shoes & Wheel cylinders on both sides. The drums were still good so I didn’t change them. The Ebrake Cables are installed. One of the cables has a few busted wires. The Leaf Springs: are from a 1979 Trans Am. They have new Energy Suspension Bushings All the way around. All the Mounting Hardware was sandblasted and painted with POR15. The Body: The shell is a 1980 Pontiac Firebird. I have the title in hand. The car is not in my name, but my signature is on the back from when I bought the car. I saw this car on the back of a Pick-N-Pull tow truck. I bought it before it hit the lot. They signed the title and I signed the title. The body is in ok shape. It has its dings and dents as expected from a 33 Year old Car. The floors have been wire wheeled bare and coated with POR15, Then coated with Truck bed Liner. The Passenger Side had tiny rust holes which I filled with epoxy Putty. There just wasn’t enough damage to justify the time and money for a Floor pan Replacement (It’s pictured). The Trunk Pan is in excellent shape, it had no damage. The ¼ Panels need work. The passenger side was backed into something and pushed in about half an inch and will either need to be pulled out are replaced altogether. I tried to use a stud wielder and claw to pull it and had no luck. The Driver’s ¼ Panel had a dent and still needs to be worked. The Rocker Panels, Cowl, Firewall, & A pillars are in excellent shape. There was very little rust on this car. The whole underside (Floor pans, Wheel Wells, Trunk Area) has been wire wheeled bare and coated with POR15 & then coated with truck bed liner. The rear speaker panel was cut and bigger aftermarket speakers were installed at some point. It has brand new shocks front and back. Shipping: The shipping is the responsibility of the buyer; I can be here to help push it on a trailer. Because POR15 is UV sensitive, I have a tarp goes with it that can cover it. The car needs to be picked up no later than two weeks from auction end and payment must be made within 7 days of auction end.
