Vehicle Detail
I know everyone thinks they are a Corvette expert, but please refer to published materials rather than a dead uncle. As an example, please refer to the rowleycorvette website / stats67 to confirm codes. Early production 1967 engine (March 31, 1966 casting) Corvette JE Code 427 435 HP engine 3x2 intake manifold (see rowleycorvette dot com / stats67). According to Rowley Corvette, the JE code was for 1967, not 1966). Matching date code heads to Block within 4 weeks. Engine came out of a running car in 2005 and has been stored in my garage covered up ever since. Mechanic said it only needs a valve job and carb rebuilt to get her running again, but of course you can rebuilt if you prefer. I'm tole it has never been rebuilt. Complete period correct unrebuilt engines like this are rare. Authentic 1967 Corvette big block 427 / 435 engine JE Code (see rowleycorvette dot com / stats67)Complete engine -includes air cleaner, carburators, water pump, starter, distributor, fuel pump, harmonic balancer, clutch and flywheel - only missing pulleys.Purchased from a mechanic. Sitting in my garage for 5 years since removed from a 1967 Corvette. Recommended by the previous owner to complete a valve job, rebuild the carburators and install new gaskets before using again. This engine appears to be completely original and never been taken apart.Engine pad: T0I05JEWater Pump: 7085Block casting number: 3869942Intake manifold number: 3894874 (no date code visible since on bottom of manifold)Distributor collar: 8 J 24 DELCO REMY 11111263Heads Date code: C 16 6 (March 16th, 1966)Head casting: 3873858Head date code: B 25 6 (February 25th, 1966)Head casting: 3873858Block casting date (difficult to read & not sure if reading it correctly): C 31 6 (March 31, 1966)Front carb numbers: first line LIST 3659, second line 3513 Middle carb numbers: first line 3902355-EV, second line LIST 3660, third line 2143Rear carb numbers: first line 0594, second line LIST 3659 On Sep-27-13 at 17:17:39 PDT, seller added the following information: VIN number is 711118X. I'm only sharing the VIN to help confirm it is a very, very, very early production 1967 427 / 435. It may be the first 427 / 435 built since it appears to be one of the first 100 cars built for 1967... I'm not sure. On Sep-29-13 at 07:49:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I've been contacted that the VIN is 11,18X and not one of the first 100 cars built in 1967. Thank you for your help!
