Vehicle Detail
Hello, I'm selling one of my vehicles, which has 231k miles. I've had it for several years. It has been my daily driver for a long while, but recently, has just seen winter duty. I've driven it to Washington D.C. several times, Tennessee several times, and all over the midwest. It has high miles, but is in good shape mechanically, has a clear title, and should last many, many more miles if properly maintained. The car has many available features for the year, including: • Heated seats (front and rear) • Ventilated front seats • 9-Ch Harman Kardon audio (AC3, top tier package) -- I've replaced both rear speakers since I've owned the vehicle. • Traction and Electronic Stability Control • OnStar-Ready • Auto-Dimming rear mirror • Side bolster airbags • Powered moonroof (works fine, no leaks) The car includes a single-disc CD changer, a keyless fob, dual auto-windows, 8 way pwr seats, and dual climate-control standard. The interior is in good shape. There is one minor aesthetic issue--part of the plastic shift track has broken off. It is a common problem. It is noticeable when the car is in park or reverse, but not in drive. A new track is ~$30. The car has no major mechanical issues. I wouldn't hesitate to drive it on a trip. If you're prone to losing keys, I'd suggest getting a 2nd one, because you have to replace the immobilizer (DICE) system if you lose all keys, which isn't cheap. This year, I've replaced the wheels with 17" Sport Tuning T5s (one of the old ones was damaged when I struck a pothole, and the ones I had on the car were no longer produced), and the alternator. The car got new tires (winter tires), a new battery , an AC condenser, and had the radiator replaced last year. (>$1200 maintenance) I would suggest buying a set of summer tires if you will be doing any extensive summer driving. Tires were rotated and balanced this spring. Some other maintenance items done over the past few years: new brake rotors and pads (pads will probably need replaced in the next 12 mo), the turbo was replaced at 168k, the timing belt + idler pulley, water pump, thermostat, coolant temperature sensor, fuel pump, tie rods, and fuel filter have all been replaced since 188k. (I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting.) I also replaced the stock exhaust with a cat-back stainless 2.5" BSR kit, which was imported from Sweden. The ECU was replaced with a stage 2 mapped ECU, and telemetrics have been unlocked on the SID. Additionally, I had the upper SID (computer display) refurbished, as it was suffering from a common problem with dead-pixels. The lower (temperature control unit) display suffered from the same issue, and I used a common fix of placing some foam to put pressure on the ribbon cable. The car can pull pretty well with the 3.0t. The engine is known to be reliable, and the only major maintenance item is replacing the timing belt and idler pulley, which should be done every 80k. The car has a 5sp auto transmission. It has Winter and Sport driving modes. The car has always had synthetic oil changed every 4-6k miles. The car gets around 25mpg in mixed driving--around 30 on the hwy, and 18 in town. The car starts, runs, shifts, etc., fine. Included will be a few rollers for the automatic windows (I've had to replace these on two of the windows), a fuel filter (should be replaced in 10-20k), some extra light bulbs for the ACC unit, and whatever else I find lying around. The body of the car is in fair condition: it has many dings and dents from shopping carts, from a kid jumping on the hood of the car when running away from a dog, and who knows what else, but it still shines well when it is cleaned up. Heat & AC work well (AC charged May 2012). All electronics work OK on the car that I'm aware of, and there are no idiot lights present. The condenser that was put in was warped slightly, and prevents one of the headlight washers (which pops up) from completely rescinding by a couple of millimeters. One other issue is that the fuel gauge can be quirky, and I believe that it over-reports the fuel by about 25miles/1 gallon. This has happened since I had the fuel pump replaced, and I'm guessing they screwed up something with the fuel float. Occasionally when the car is completely filled with fuel the fuel gauge will drop to empty for the first few miles. It has a sizable tank, and can get 450 miles in the summer, and around 400 miles in the winter. The car pulls slightly to the left, mostly noticeable at highway speeds. The last time I took it to Firestone for an alignment, they told me it would need to go to a GM dealer to have a full alignment done. I haven't seen any effects on the tire wear. Please feel free to ask any questions. I've tried to describe the car as accurately as possible. I'm moving to an urban area that isn't affected by winters, and would like to sell this car prior to doing so. If you're in the area next weekend, you're more than welcome to come test drive the vehicle. The weekend after the auction (10/5), I will be unavailable due to a wedding. You will be required to pay a $500 deposit immediately after the auction ends, via paypal. The remainder can be paid via paypal, cash, or check. If paid via check, I will not release the car until the check clears.Cheers
