Vehicle Detail

This Car was owned by the Medved Family (being sold by Benjamin Medved) as original owners, and was driven by Michael Medved while he was at Yale Law school. While it needs lots of love and work, a lot of love and work has gone into it. Altho ugh the rebuilt engine and transmission are aging, everything still runs well; while a new owner might want to replace the rag top, the electric/hydraulic motor on the convertible is sill a joy and easy to use. New windshield with Carlite (Motocraft) glass, all work since 1989 done by Mustang Fever in Santa Clara, New radio, has factory Jack stand, wheel hold down and lug wrench, new 3 row aluminum radiator, Halogen but factory fitting Headlamps, rear leaf springs have been replaced/Front springs, bushings and tie rod ends all worked on between the mid 90's and now, Interior needs a lot of love and work, but it's been my car for over 30 smoke-free years and is much beloved--hate to let her go, but I don't have the time with my business success to give it the attention she needs. Best offer wins!On Sep-23-13 at 16:21:33 PDT, seller added the following information: Car will need work: Car is sold "As Is." Shipping is not included. Best offer wins! On Sep-24-13 at 00:03:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Per the request of many buyers, I took some night photos of the truck bed and lid, and the drivers floorpan, the little I could shoot through the carpet. The car was steam cleaned on the bottom and the steam cleaner said things look good on the bottom as far as lack of rust (little bit, not much according to the cleaner). As you can see from these photos, I should have had him steam clean the trunk given the accumulated dirt. Nice metal beneath it though. On Sep-24-13 at 15:03:56 PDT, seller added the following information: More Detail: I've loaded daytime photos of the trunk pan and floor pan to answer questions about rust. There's only decades dirt there as far as I can see, but I'm sure there must be a minor problem somewhere. There is rust on the sky blue view on Highway 101 that I took with the top down, the Crome liner where the top would attach has a little visible. But check out my unbelievable view as I was driving to work with the top down! The upholstery needs a lot of work as you can see from the photos. Fun Facts about the Hilarymobile: That was the car's nickname based on a derivation a colleague at work made that this car was Michael Medved's michaelmedved.com While he was at Yale Law and was "very friendly" with Hilary Rodham (Clinton). When I asked him about it he was silent for two minutes and then said he'll never mention it again in public. On Sep-26-13 at 15:51:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Time to show the love: I've got a buy it now bid for $8,500--I am very tempted to take it if bidding remains stalled at 6K. So if you want the car, show your in the game and that there is some reason not to close the auction and take the buy it now price:eBay sent this message to benjamin Medved (jojimbo). Thanks Well it will be if I don't see some action soon.On Sep-28-13 at 01:13:10 PDT, seller added the following information: More Fun Facts: After researching the vehicle's VIN number, I found out it was assembled at Fords legendary San Jose (Milpitas) plant. I wish I had known that as I was tooling around Silicon Valley, as it would have been fun to think that when I drove the Mustang to the Great Mall (Milpitas), it was being parked in its "birthplace." See these photos here--truly historic views of Silicon Valley, and beautiful photos of a classic period of time: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://content.cdlib.org/ark:/13030/kt5r29q2xb/hi-res.jpg&imgrefurl=http://content.cdlib.org/ark:/13030/kt5r29q2xb/&h=643&w=800&sz=102&tbnid=QcIiYkGTDSMuEM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=112&zoom=1&usg=__QxU67bF-fYEf6itCJ2aUt_wBBYc=&docid=9agIFtGEIMsN8M&sa=X&ei=kIlGUteUFfD8yAHUxIDoAg&ved=0CGEQ9QEwBQAnd: http://www.sccgov.org/SCC/docs%2FCounty%20Executive,%20Office%20of%20the%20(DEP)%2FCounty%20Archive%2Fattachments%2FJuly_2011.pdfOn Sep-28-13 at 19:35:50 PDT, seller added the following information: An agent of a foreign buyer loved the car and thought it was actually priced low. He said there was some chatter about the missing door tag--the door tag can easily be replaced at the following website with a full authentic reproduction: http://www.martiauto.com/itemselection.cfm?item=TAGD-68&selecteditem=yes The full Marti report has been ordered for the car and will be passed along to the new owner. If Marti still allows me to pass along this discount for the door tag, I'd be happy to pass that along as well.
