Vehicle Detail
This is a rare find. It is a 1961 AMC Rambler Cross Country Station wagon. Hardly ever see these anymore. This one has rare options including all factory tinted glass and factory AC. The car is in rough shape but it is all there. Does not run and had been parked for over 20 years but the engine turns over freely and the second owner said it was running when parked all those years ago. The original owner recently died and the second owner inherited the car. It was too much of a project for him and he used this as payment for some work I did for him. He dropped it off at my house and once I saw it I realized there was no way I could undertake a project like this at this time. It needs total restoration. Some rust on the drivers and passengers floors that will require patch panels but otherwise all rust on the car is surface rust. All glass is good except the windshield which is cracked. Has four decent tires and will roll onto a trailer just fine. Original hubcaps are in the rear of the wagon and the air cleaner. This is a very neat project and if you search Barret Jackson auctions you will see the "surfer" wagon that I included in my pictures (last two pictures) sold for $13,500 just a few months ago. Again, the last two pictures are NOT my wagon but are of a wagon that sold at Barret Jackson. My wagon has similar "patina" as the one that sold there but will need much work to get to that point. This is a no reserve auction. High bidder gets the wagon. Title is clean and notarized. I don't know much else about this car but feel free to ask. Just remember that this is a total project, non-running car sold "as is". I will be happy to assist putting this on a trailer for the new owner and will work with your shipping company in any way I can. On Sep-25-13 at 18:44:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I had an eBay member ask me how long the car was to see if it would fit on his trailer so I went out to measure it tonight and it is 15 feet and 7 inches, approximately. While I was out there I noticed the top of the driver's fender does have rust through in a small area so I will take pictures and post them tomorrow of this area. I realize some people have already bid on the wagon not knowing this information so if you would like to retract your bid based on this new information than please feel free to do so. I was surprised I missed this when I first went over the car and took pictures so I went over the car more closely but I think that was the only other rust on the car other than the front floors. The rust on the fender looks actually kind of cool if you were thinking of doing the rat rod look, but if you were going to restore the car then obviously it would need to be addressed. Thanks and good luck!
