This car has spent most of its life on the highway, where the benefits of a diesel engine are felt most. Vehicle was purchased in Nashville, TN at the VW dealership. This is an extremely rare car for a used vehicle; it is one of the few cars you can buy used that will not need any work, period. Buy it, drive it, enjoy it. Nearly every used car needs some significant service work to be performed right after purchase. This is *not* one of them. In every aspect, it is completely ready to drive without needing to worry about what's about to go bad. And, in the rare case that something does, the warranty will cover it. I don't let anything go uncared-for with my vehicles, and have treated this car very, very well. Individual item conditions:Brakes: Should be good through 120-140k miles on the front. These are still the original brake pads, but they have lots of life left on them. Rear brake pads have been replaced once, should be able to get you past 100k miles.Tires: Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires - among the best tires that one can buy for this car; plenty of tread left, probably around 30% remaining. Should be able to get you past 100k miles.Belts, hoses, seals, etc.: All in top shapeBattery: Working great, starts without issue every timeOil life: Oil change was done at around 78k miles. Needs to be done every 10k miles, *requires* 507.00-type oil.Transmission: The car will need the DSG service at 100k miles.Timing: Uses a timing chain, needs no replacementAll else electrical and mechanical: In absolutely top shape. I pride myself in keeping my cars in perfect running order. All recommended and required service has been done at VW dealerships.One drive, and I guarantee you will love the condition of the car. Car's exterior condition and history: This car is in great condition for a car of this mileage, as it was taken care of very meticulously. No leaks, no rust, no malfunctions, no codes, no structural damage, everything works.The driver's side mirror was brushed off by a city bus that came too close while the car was stopped at a traffic light. The mirror has been replaced with a new, genuine unit. Because of the nature of the contact, the side of the car was scuffed. The mirror and necessary painting was done by a dealer. There is *no* structural damage to the car whatsoever, and the repairs have left the car back to factory specification. The carfax *will* show this report, as it was paid by the bus company's insurance. Any other issues are normal for a car of this mileage. There are a couple of minor nicks on the rear bumper, nearly-invisible scuffs on the right-rear fender, a small dent on the driver's side front bumper, and nearly-invisible door dents that can be expected from having ever parked in a parking lot. A couple of the wheels have minor scuff marks from light brushes. These are cosmetic, and are normal for a car of this mileage. There is also a 1" crack in the windshield to the right of the driver's field of view. This has been professionally repaired over 2 years ago, and has not changed. Warranty: I purchased a Fidelity extended warranty for this vehicle. It is the best extended warranty available, and is the one most recommended by VW. There is a $100 deductible per repair order. This warranty is good until the car reaches 106k miles. It covers all electrical, mechanical, and structural components that are not subject to normal wear (e.g., brake pads, etc.) Furthermore, VW has included a transmission warranty through 120k miles for the DSG transmission. However, given the reliability of this vehicle, I doubt you will need to make any claims against the warranty; the car is extremely reliable. The vehicle is listed as having a timing chain, when it does in fact use a timing belt. I was operating under the incorrect assumption that it used a timing chain. Volkswagen recommends changing the belt at 120k miles, meaning it has around 56k miles on it before needing replacement.
