1976 Chevrolet Cosworth #2666 Vega. Although this is a true Cosworth, a 1963 Buick 215 aluminum V-8 (less than 1500 miles on rebuild) with a 3 speed automatic transmission (350 turbo w/shift kit and stall converter) has been installed. D & D Fabrication parts were used for the installation of the drive train. The original Cosworth engine/transmission 5sp and rear axle (410 posi) goes with with the car and can easily be re-installed for the "purist" at heart. This was a on/off 3 yr restoration/build (2009-2012), base-clear paint, underbody/engine compartment was media blasted-primed and painted. New carpet, NOS dash, restored wheels, hrs of labor and over 12K budget on the build. The automatic shifter was modified so that it looks as though it's the original 5 speed. Only thing not refinished was the bumpers.The car has always driven away with a plaque or trophy at the local car shows, and has driven 3 amazing laps at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn Mi.
