Vehicle Detail

This listing is for a 1963 Chevrolet Corvair Monza Coupe. This is a "One Family" owned car with only 39,021 miles (milage will increase sightly as I do drive the car). This is a true "Blast From The Past"! How many 50 year old cars have you seen that have been in the same family since new? Along with that there is an amazing amount of documentation and receipts that come with this investment! This Corvair Monza was sold new at Mahlon Maxton Chevrolet Inc in Worthington, Ohio. I have the original window sticker that has the following information: 3732A Blue Trim - 3912A Solid Medium Blue - 3M35H Power Glide Transmission ($156) - 3L62A Turbo-Fire 145 engine (26.00) - 3Z01N C & C Group (includes inside no glare mirror / 2 SPD washer & wiper) ($28.00) - 3870W padded inst panel ($16.00). The total window sticker was $2,530.00. I also have the original "Bill Of Sale", Chevrolet Owner Protection Plan, Thank you letter signed by Chevrolet General Sales Manager L.H. Overill, and the original owners manual. All of these items are shown in a photo. I will also include several original "Saturday Evening Post" 10 1/2" by 13 1/2" frame worthy advertisements from 1963 displaying the Corvair. On top of that I have a original "Show Room" sales brochure. Finally, there is included in this sale a Sun Star 1/18 scale die cast model of the 1963 Corvair (not shown). How many 50 year old cars have these items to include? These items are also shown in a photo. There are reciepts totaling more than $7,000 that will also be included in the sale. Many of the reciepts are of normal maintenance over the 50 years of the Corvair. There is a reciept for a engine overhaul in 2003 for $4,500.00 and a new gas tank and fuel sending unit, new brakes (1991 @ $232.61), new tires (1993 @ $334.95), rebuild carbs (1993 @ $347.20) major tune-up (1991 @$480.32) . This Corvair Monza is just a Super Fun car to drive! It starts easy, runs out great, and everything seems to be in working order. The body of this Corvair Monza is straight and there are no signs of rust. Floors are good (one panel replaced on drivers side - see pic), trunk is good, but the re-paint is average. There are blotches on the sides. I asked my painter about this and his theory was that the painter was giving the Corvair one more coat of paint and ran out of paint in the gun and it sputtered. It is tolerable, just not a perfect paint job. If you are looking for a driver the paint is good enough. The interior is original (except carpet) and is in "Near New" condition, seriously the inside looks amazing. The engine has a slight oil leak which is common to Corvairs. I think in this case it is because the Corvair has sat so much and the seals get dry. The rear grille "air-cooling" panel was fabricated from aluninum mesh (so air can still pass through and cool the engine) and is non-original. You can get a reproduction for around $200.00. Final Thoughts: This is a affordable opportunity to own a Classic 50 year old Car with amazing documentation and history. This Corvair is what I would call of "Driver Quality". It is very nice as you can see in the pics, it is NOT a Show Car! I have been in the Classic Car business for over 30 years and have sold more than 100 classic cars. Currently it is hard to find ANYTHING with this type of history. Check my feedback and buy with confidence. If you need any additional photos of certain areas just send me a e-mail. NOTE: This is a personal car of mine. A Corvair was my first car, so I have always had a great interest in them. I am only selling this Corvair because we are purchasing a new home.
