1961 Ford Falcon Ranchero – Original SOCAL car A solid, utilitarian car with lotsa cool factor. Purchased from a friend a few months back but need the funds to address an urgently needed home repair. Used regularly to haul my bikes in and around LA/OC/IE . Also used to commute to work a couple times a week. Daily drivable as she sits. BIKE PICTURED NOT INCLUDED. Car starts right up and is as reliable as anything on the road. Motor sounds very healthy and handling is crisp. She sits low with 3in blocks out back and lowered springs up front. Doesn't ride like a caddy but far from punishing. Previous owner made multiple 500+ mile trips this year. Car gets approx. 14mpg and cruises comfortably @ 70mph. Clean CA Title with current registration. Drivetrain Conversion (Done by Fox Auto Care in Santa Ana CA) Swap from stock inline 6/shift-o-matic to 289 V8. All from SAME 68 Mustang – fit and finish are nice C4 3 speed automatic transmission 8.8 inch, 5 lug rear Brand new differential professionally installed last year New Holley 600cfm, VAC secondary electric choke carburetor and Edelbrock dual plane manifold are hidden beneath the air cleaner Generator was just replaced with an internally regulated modern 3G 200 amp alternator Stock exhaust manifolds with dual exhaust and Hi Performance mufflers – The perfect amount of, ‘noise’ Electronic ignition module is hidden in the distributor cap No known leaks (leaves no marks on floor in garage) Cap and rotor replaced a few weeks back Functional odometer reads 70,657mi - Drivetrain much less although true miles unknown. Brakes All four brakes rebuilt; New lines, drums, shoes and cylinders Interior Rare, fully optioned factory car Dash, seats, carpet, door panels in excellent condition Padded dash Two tone interior (ala Falcon w/Sprint pkg) Sliding rear window (to my knowledge an aftermarket upgrade but looks stock) Dash lights, vacuum wipers, and heat work perfectly. Aluminum Grant Steering Wheel (horn inop) SunPro Tach works intermittently Alpine head unit with 6 Boston Acoustic speakers (door panels and package tray behind seat) – needs wired. Local shop quoted $100/1 hr to get working Some of the weather-stripping along the driver side door has loosened and I have neglected to take time and apply a little adhesive and refit. Exterior Body in its original 61 paint Rust in lower rear quarters, around window / windshield frames. Worst is leading edge of hood. Rust on the rearmost bed trim where chrome has come off. When tonneau is on, you don’t see it. Seems previous owner used a small amount of filler on top of the drip rails to patch some small thru holes (pictured). Rain does not enter the cab when sitting or driving. Gas filler relocated to inside of bed. Seems previous owner(s) prepping for body mods.
