2002 Honda Odyssey EX-L Mini Van One Owner Needs Work Great Deal Product Description2002 Honda Odyssey. One owner mini-van with 225,000 miles. EX-L version with seating for seven, leather interior, power windows, power door locks, power driver's seat, rear entertainment/DVD player, AM/FM/CD, rear AC, automatic climate control, automatic sliding doors, Hidden Hitch trailer hitch. The van runs and drives, but it has been diagnosed with a bad transmission. Repair facility has told me it needs a new transmission before it goes much farther. A replacement, used motor was installed at 197,000 miles with new timing belt and water pump. The motor had 75,000 miles on it when installed and has 100,000 miles on it now. At the same time, the transmission was rebuilt and a larger transmission cooler was installed. This year of Honda transmissions have been poor performers at best and the rebuild was ineffective. Van has new tires with less than 1,500 miles on them and a new brake job. New front struts and rear springs were installed at 197,000 miles. Everything else besides the transmission works properly. I would NOT plan on driving the van far before the transmission is replaced. You may need to tow it home to be safe. Typical scratches, scuffs, stains and marks that would be associated with a ten year old van. Overall, I would say the cosmetic condition is good to above average condition. Used as a family wagon for ten years before the transmission gave it up. A great van for someone handy with a wrench or with access to a replacement transmission.
