This is my first "Chicken Coop Find!" Vern really did park the Rokon on the farm and walked away. The ROKON was ahead of its time or technology. It was the first production dirt bike to offer disc brakes, Automatic Transmission, Hand and Foot operated rear brake, Enduro Time Keeping Equipment and spokeless Magnesium wheels. I look at it like the Cannondale MX bike from 1990's which was cutting edge but came out a little too soon an the Auto Clutch with the hand rear brake is also reminiscent of the current Rekluse clutch system for dirtbikes. This was a running motorcycle when it was parked. Owner bought a new 1979 Can-Am 175 and let the Rokon sit. I get to use the the famous quote of just about every seller who says "RAN WHEN PARKED." Well... if it ran, then why did you park it? The other one I enjoy is "It runs, but it don't start." If it's a moto with an Amal carb. then I can understand! But i digress . . . The engine is stuck. The starter rope does not "pull" correctly. I assume the engine does not turn over because it has not been touched since Jimmy Carter was in office and Saturday Night Fever was in the movie theaters. Only non-stock items appear to be the Curnutt shocks, Silencer on the muffler and left hand rear brake lever/perch. Rokon has not been cleaned and is in "as found" condition. The motorcycle could not be rolled with the engine in its present condition and Vern cut off the drive belt so that the Rokon could fly the coop - so to speak.
