Vehicle Detail

You are looking at another one of many collection that I am selling because of personal reasons. This is a 1970 Nova SS and it is a REAL SS, however the engine is not original and this car came equipped with a 350 engine, not the one installed. This car I got from a life long friend who had it over 30 years and he did most of the work to it. He of course had to sell it because of personal reasons and I bought it off of him about 10 years ago. So he just told me that the engine is a 1964 396 bored 30 over to a 402,heads oval ported and the heads are from a 1969 427 engine, it has forged pistons, 10 1/2 to 1 compression, a steel crank, the stock horse power started at 375,original ss rear with 373 gears and a 12 bolt posi, 400 turbo transmission with b&m parts installed, a 2500 stall convertor, when he installed the engine he ordered factory GM brackets for the big block, it has headers however I never put the tail pipes on and they are in the trunk, it has electronic ignition, a a torker intake, the front tires are 215/70/15 and should be replaced. The rear tires are 275/60/15, the rear wheel wells were raised to allow for the bigger 15" wheels and tires while keeping the same body lines. The miles on the car is 41611 and the actual miles on the title of this car is 41443 (and I'm told that these are the actual miles). Last year I had the front and rear seats redone and also had the carpet replaced. The door panels are ok, but they should be replaced because he added door speakers plus the driver side door panel has extra screws in it. The car has factory air conditioning in it and it is not currently working, however it did work last year. All of the components are there and they are hooked up, I did not spend any time to check to see why it is not working. It has front disc brakes however I just drove it and I noticed that one of the calipers are sticking and releasing irregularly, so you may figure to change either one or both of the calipers or the rubber brake lines, or they may free up, but from sitting this is a common occurrence. The brakes and rotors look good. The car has aftermarket cruise control, power antenna (should be removed), cheap side mirrors and missing the side mirror on the right (should be replaced with factory), and the gages all work. The roof is vinyl and it was replaced 30 years ago and it was not a good job, it has some bubbles underneath that was from the glue, and where the seam is above the windows in the drip edge, he used a urethane sealer, so from a distance the top looks good but from close up it does not. The molding around the rear side windows should be replaced. There is a small paint chip on the hood, the left front fender has plastic on the bottom near to the front door, the driver side door edge has paint chips, the door rubber should be replaced but it is ok, the trunk has a hole in it but it is an easy fix, the rest of the trunk is decent, the trunk rubber seal should be replaced and if you lift the trunk rubber up, there is some surface rust, again not a problem yet. The paint job overall looks pretty good. There is a new fuel tank installed, and it has traction bars, air shocks (which leak air). Now that I have tried to list everything that I am aware of, I have probably scared everyone away. I try to be honest and list everything so that there are no surprises. This car is not a show car, however it does look very good at a short distance, it sounds great, runs good and is pretty fast. The original owner really had set up the rear suspension to be able to smoke the tires and keep straight. There is less than 1000 miles on the engine, transmission, and rear end rebuild. I had this car for almost 10 years and did not put 100 miles on it, just had no time, which is another reason I am selling all of my cars. The title is a clean Pa title. I am selling the car AS-IS just as I always sell everything on Ebay. The car is located in Shamokin, Pa 17872. This car would be a great car to restore for a show car, or it will be a great car to drive as a daily driver, either way it does get alot of attention when you are driving by. If I took the time to fix the few problems this car has, I would have had even a harder time parting with it and most likely would have gotten attached to it again and wouldn't have sold it. So I pulled out of my garage, washed it and posted it here to be sold. The buyer is responsible for any shipping costs and any transfer fees. There is a $200 deposit that must be paid with 24 hours at the end of the auction. If you have any questions please email me. Thank you and happy bidding!
